View Full Version : +Spell Damage not working on all SPELLS

<p>Did some testing on TEST. Found that the following Shadow Knight spells even though they are listed as spells do not get any bonus from +spell damage.</p><p>Death Circle This is a aoe dot. We have another spell that is basically the same that does get the bonus.</p><p>Pestilence This is a dot spell.</p><p>Tap Veins aoe nuke with a life tap.</p><p>Fetid Smite small nuke.</p><p>Also on our other life tap the spell damage is split between the life tap and the spell damage. Is this the way it is supposed to be done?</p>
Please fix this! Give us a bone here! Let us know whats going on.

I don't play a SK personally, but will keep an eye on this for my guildies that do, as they will be most concerned about this when the update hits.Edited to add a thanks to Kirstie for the response!

Example Death circle with 255 +spell dmg will gain 10dmg overall ;/Tap ViensPestilenceThese two are ancients It would be very nice if they are effected.. but in live i know they dont scale ;/ chances are slim for those two. ;/

I Hope the developer is still looking at this post <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=" />" />This might help, these are some things I've noticed as a ShadowknightBoth Fetid Smite and Death Circle are placed in the knowledge book under spells; however, they are show up as combat arts by the game because they refer to their resist rates in terms of combat arts (for example Fetid Smite M1 says 40% Easier while the spell Abominable Anger M1 says 33% harder)I've always known them to be combat arts, so i'm guessing they just got misplaced in the books but i'll leave that up to the developers and spell folk at SOE <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=" />" /> good luck, and hopefully they'll figure out what they should be.

How about asking for a method of making it work for both classes (if indeed it doesn't work for SK).</p><p>As for the Unholy Strength line, you are becoming more powerfull at shooting spells... that doesn't seem like strength to you? Be courteous... SK will get loving if you ask nicely, and post accurately, like the OP did.</p>

On live currently this doesn't gain from spell damage since the lifetap is a secondary spell that is instant cast. I did manage to get Tap Veins to work. Pestilence is also working although its essentially a triggered spell so its gain is minimal due to that.

This spell is a dot that stuns target on each tick. The damage part is also triggered so it doesnt get any bonus from +spell damage effect. Also this spell is missing the last tick, please fix it too, thx!

Is this something that will come with another patch since it got noticed so late?

Ok Tap viens, Is effected, it just does not show on description the gain.. The parse shows different. Pestilence I cant see a difference, Im unsure excatly what to look for on it either.. so cant say one way or the other atm.

Signet of Light from Darkness, for example, can crit damage as well as crit heal on its proc. So, if you have healing procs, anything that increases heal crit chance increases the chance that your healing procs will crit heal.</p><p>I'm guessing, anyway, that as an SK, your best DPS setup for Crusader AAs keeps you out of that AA skill anyway. It's probably the same 4-4-8 AGI/STA/INT that Paladins use.</p>
Ok, now correct me if I am wrong but if we cast our level 2 Condemning Smite, that normally does 14-24 dmg for me, if I have a buff that adds 67.2 dmg per spell shouldnt the spell do 81-91 dmg? This would be easy to test, and I have done so, and found I crit for 26 a lot with it, or it does something in the 14-24 range. Abominable Anger (thelvl 69 version does 453-693 for me, so its much harder to tell if it is gaining any effect from this buff.

You can max out +spell damage and the damage of that spell is so low that you go to the max easily. I think that +spell damage is about 50% of total damage of spell. Don't know the maximum but you are definnetly over it with a 300% increase.

Our melee is not quit as effective as a pallys so that ae attack from the agi line dont help much.</p><p>Raid Sks that are dps ushaly go full str line for the increased spell casting take the spell crits in the int line and then the rest go where ever.</p>

These CA doesn't get any bonus from bruiser buff nor spell bonus items.Comparing pure melee tanks, this is surely disadvantage and should be looked into as getting bonus by spell bonus as well (because SK is more configed for mage side as is).</span>
