View Full Version : Pumice stone doesn't remove anything from rogues / predators

It doesn't remove poisons or buffs from level 70 rogues and predators except maybe vision totems. I also noticed that it didn't seem to remove anything from beserkers/guardians. Pumice stone removes about 5-6 buffs from a level 70 bard/mage/priest. How is that fair? Is it broken?

I have wasted about 20 charges testing this out on different classes lately and this is my result.

Also, I didn't try to use it on the players while they had temperary buffs on like Inspiration/En Garde or anything like that since I was just running up to 70s and casting it with my 57 swash. Don't even start about the level of my charactor I tested this on because it DOES NOT MATTER. A level 10 could cast it on you and do the same thing.

A side note: Pumice stone would land on a 70 four out of five times (80% of the time ) with a level 57 rogue casting it.

A pumice stone will remove short term buffs from from them, but it's useless otherwise.

And I don't have the time to test anything this week, heck this month.
Something else may have removed your poisons but it wasn't pumice stone.

Well, does it remove caster conc buffs? If it doesn't, then it would be pretty fair across the board ya?

I seem to remember a dev pos tregarding just that, but I also seem to remember my inquisitor getting fully stripped of all buffs, including the conc dps/health buff.

Pumice stone always removes one charge from the pumice stone!
Borias wrote:
Well, does it remove caster conc buffs? If it doesn't, then it would be pretty fair across the board ya?
Yes it removes warlock conc buffs not sure about other classes tho. Not pred/rogue ones

Read it again.Dispels magical benefits. This does not include poisons and physical stances. And when was an offensive stance anywhere near as deadly/important to debuff as something so overpowered as manashield or nullmail?
Vydar@Vox wrote:
Read it again.Dispels magical benefits. This does not include poisons and physical stances. And when was an offensive stance anywhere near as deadly/important to debuff as something so overpowered as manashield or nullmail?

Yeah Manashield and Nullmail are both overpowered thats why they both got a boost in the last patch. The are all of a sudden new and overpowered since they got a boost and now your fights are closer than before. They been around forever and now that they make a difference in a fight, people like u think they are overpowered.

What is overpowered? Pumice stone can take away over 50% of a warlocks AA points worth of buffs in one 2 second cast and doesn't remove anything from a rogue or predator and fighters. I have played an assassin and admit out of swashbuckler/brig/wizard/warlock/paladin(yes i said paladin) they are harder to play 1v1. Until you throw in the pumice stone. The pumice stone is one hell of an overpowered item because it makes warlocks completely useless in PVP just like they had no AA points and it cost NOTHING to buy. Sorcerers get manashield because it is needed to survive with the long casting tiems and low control abilities other mages get. I do think wizards should get a weaker version of manashield but thats a different story. It creates an illusion of 'invinciblity' to the weak minded people that try to stick around and out dps it once it is up. That is not anywhere near impossible to do as long as you time your interrupts/knockbacks correctly but its not the easiest route.

Dhye 70 Warlock

Eg. a smart Bruiser will mezz my Swash butt when i activate En garde and just dispells it and i will use Pumice to get rid of his annoying "Close Mind" so that i can snare / kite him or that my Illu Buddy can have fun with him.Go on on your little crusade. Make it so that it only dispells temp buffs and doesnt touch any concentration slot abilities. Because that way i can be absolutely sure to take off Manashield and not "Hand of the Tyrant" and some other crappy selfbuffs worth the 130 lvls it dispells. In other words in t7 its in no way a sure method to take Manashield off. As a Swash i can mezz the Sorceror the sec he activates it (so thats the last buff he casted) use Pumice Stone and see to my dissapointment that it removes Hand of the Tyrant, Shield of the Magi, Magis Shielding etc but not Manashield. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt.Your Problem is that you want to successfully solo as a Warlock, which is imo a group oriented class, and while you can do that now to a certain extent it bugs you that there is a tool which (sometimes) can dispell your ability to withstand massive damage and you re left "only" with the ability to deal out massive damage (like the Glass Cannons are supposed to be, and with the recent resistance changes you re indeed Cannons minus the Glass). Dont want to get pumiced? Get a Group with a good Tank; i cant target you, i cant pumice you. Simple as that. BladesCaineVenekor

The whole problem I have is Pumice stone can remove 2 of my end line AA abilites (Manashield and Focused Casting) in one charge. Thats half of my aa points. It can also remove nullmail and a few conc buffs. When it doesn't remove anything from other classes its frustrating.

Yeah... since all of the points you have to waste to get to the end line abilities could be spent to double my DPS. Something tells me you already knew that.
Brimestar wrote:
Relish the fact that your manashield doesn't put you into combat....
Doesn't matter, if you were attackable to me I would PWN you without casting manashield.
