Question: Is there any way to change from berserker to guardian without remaking the character? Does betraying allow you to rechoose?

I ask because I have things claimed on my berserker, but I found guardian to be more enjoyable, so I am wondering if there's a way to change without loosing those items and titles.

Betraying will allow you to change class (Zerk to Guard). You just can't go from say Guard to Wizard. Your skills will become Apprentice I and your class specific gear will not be wearable and will not turn into class specific gear of the class you changed to. It becomes vendor or transmute junk. But, anything you claimed or accomplished should be unchanged and anything attuned that is wearable by either class can be used.

What Bramwell said. The final step the of the betrayal quest will allow you to select if you want to be a berserker or Guardian. Also note that you do not have to betray twice: Once you finish the first half of the quest and go to Haven, you can simply go back to the city you started in rather than gong to the opposite city and betraying back.

Thanks! Just what I wanted to know. 8-) He's only level 10, so no big skill losses.

I think if I were starting over, I'd level up as a zerker then make the change later. Just makes killing things faster and soloing's easier, the ae dps makes a difference. That said, guardians do fine if you can at least duo everything. I've soloed with mine for hours and hours (days probably by now), and can't reasonably go places equally geared zerkers can. With enough AA's a lot of that is mitigated though.
It takes about ten times as long to betray as it does to get to level 10.

I'm not certain, but I thought that the neutral classes (zerker, guard, warlock, etc) don't get the option to change classes when they betray?

Nope Zerkers get the choice. I did it a few weeks ago, and the quest is long and boring, I gained about 5 levels whilst doing it.
