<p>Really depends on what you want to do.</p><p>Pretty much all the DPS classes can churn out good numbers if you are good at them, Swashy, Brigand, Necro, Conjy, Warlock + all the other classes listed.</p><p>If you ever plan on raiding I would stay away from any of the tank classes, there are just only so many spots for them on raids.</p><p>Would you be mainly grouping or soloing?</p>

Even the best of the best shadowknights only parse at about 1000 when tanking in raids. They're really not a DPS class.

Shadowknight/Bruiser/Monk</blockquote>uhm no, when hes asking for classes that have heals like drain for 2 the answer is also assassin, but he needs to use slashing weapons (like axes) and he wont be able to self heal before lvl30. At 30 you can enhance the dualwield slashing weapons with a heal proc adornment (pretty nice), and i think at 50 or 55 he can use the self heal poisons too, all in all thats 3 proc heals that will proc every fight minimum 1-2 times.

To me one of the biggest disappointments of EQ2 is the overvaluing of DPS....I kinda liked the importance of tanking, crowd control, heals, slows, etc that took place in EQ1.....TO simply blow away so many mobs in the game really takes away alot of the strategy.....

I was a long time WoW player before EQ2 and I love how valuable DPS is in this game. In WoW EVERYONE does damage, but only a few classes can tank and heal decently. Then most of those healers and tanks have the ability to outshine alot of DPS classes if spec'd for it. What it comes down to is in WoW being a damage dealer is not a value'd role at all. Almost every class can do it and do it well. It leaves classes whose sole role is to deal damage feeling a bit screwed. I actually was a warrior (the premier tank) and all it took was some gold and I could deal the type of damage that made dps classes drool with a fury spec.  In PvP i could spec arms and both cripple my opponents ability to be healed while doing massive two hander damage. DPS was undervalued completely. I like the fact that in this game you see LF2M DPS etc.

Swashy, assassin, ranger, conj, necro, wizard, warlock, <u>all of them can pump out the dps as well as the other</u>now, just look at the utility and survivability and solo ability,  some of them have and you can see the better class to bei will rank em--((assuming they are well played, most don't play their toons well)Swashy-----one of the most over powered classes, tops the parse and debuffs, and good utilityNecro--great solo class, life burn, utility  cant go wrongConj-- great solo class, pet class for agro control and survivability,  solid classWiz and warlock---some nice things like porting, and being able to attack from afar, good root and nuke for solo playassassin ranger--assassin get a hate transfer where rangers dont, but rangers solo better so i rank them a tie.  these classes dont offer anything but dps so i rank them last.

Monk.  Can tank real good, can dps pretty amazing numbers, self heal, feign death. Different stances for different situation.  Really won't be disapointed with the class.I'm sure bruiser is just as good but I've never played one.
