If you didn't have any AA to help in the Charm, you should get mobs 3 or 4 levels lower than you to get a stable effect. If your EOF's Charm-AA is 5-point full, you can charm mobs 1 or 2 levels lower than you to get the pleasure. If your Charm is enhanced by EOF and WIS-line, you can charm mobs that 2 levels higher than you with quite a few risk of early-breaking.And yes, making Adept-3 or buying Master-1 is essential in Charm, because the resist rate would be lower and the damage-output of the pet would be much larger.

so, the higher the charm spell (Adept III / Master I - II), increases the charmed mobs DPS also?

The level of charm determines what skills the charmed mob has. If you use a Master I charm the mob's skills will all be Master level. If you use Adept III they become Adept I (only advantage with adept III is lower chance to resist). Charm is basically a spell that is automatically cast every 30 sec on the mob. Standard resist mechanics apply meaning the resist rates of the spell, the amount of Subjugation you have, the target's Wis and mental resists all come into play. Some mobs have much higher mental resist than other and will be much harder to keep charmed. The kicker is that the best pets tend to be casters. These mobs also tend to have higher mental resist than fighter mobs.

Sell your soul to get the Master charm..

Also unless things have changed, for the most part a lower level Master charmed pet will outperform a pet charmed by a higher level Adept III but you can test that easy enough if needed.

I seem to get full charm durations most of the time, even with yellow mobs in New Tunare, but corpse flames which are blue i think break early all the time. So resists the mobs has effects the charm too.

Heh. I managed to find Dominate on the broker for 1pp and it made a world of difference. The person had a sales crate in their house, and normally I go house hunting if a spell has a 20 gold broker fee, but in this case I logged in one of my other characters who had more cash and bought it right that second. Considering how I almost never see Domination and when I do it's just ridiculously priced, I'm glad I did because I'll probably be using Dominate for a loooong time.

I think the pet for a coercer is much different than classes that have pets. A coercer Charm is a short lived thing and should be played that way. If you want to keep a pet then be prepared to cancel the Charm spell in between a fight then, mez or stun and re Charm the Mob. When you use the charm as a full out pet like a Necro or Conjurer that when you get into trouble, Charm is a temporary spell.Every 30 seconds the spell has a chance to be resisted and broke, so play with that in mind. A Charmed pet doesn't last long...its just how the Coercer works. What I do is beat the heck out of my pet for a minute or 2 and at the end of a fight when its health is red, kill em get a little exp and then re-Charm another. Thats my 2c
