Hi all. I'm a long time eq1/eq2 player and I love the rich history that so few of the players in these games bother to learn about. I check in here from time to time and I always learn something new. Cushashorn, your input is invaluable. That said I have a task for you in you would be so kind as to help me.

I am very interested in the hidden lore quests in the game. I stumbled onto the first of the Everling quests and really enjoyed following and completing it. The problem I am having is locating subsequent quests of this nature. Is there a way that Cush and some of the other regular posters here could list these quests to make it easier for novice lore seekers such as myself to find what is available? If so, could they be thumbtacked to make them more accessible?

I realize the whole nature of these quests is to reward those who take the time to learn about EQ history with special knowledge and items about the game. I'm not really even interested in walkthrough as I like to attempt to find solutions by myself. All I really want is a list of what is out there as well as where they start. Anyone's assistance with this would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Unfortunatly. it seems Vhalen has been to busy to continue with any more lore board quests.

After the Everling Statue that he asked me to tell the board, he later hinted to us about a book behind the origins of The Behemoth, whose skeleton is found on the island in Nektulos.

All the clues to find the book and the discussion of the quest is found in this thread.

Those are the only two we've had.

I'm working on a few more and squeezing them into my schedule. I hope to have a new one in place within the next month. It may not be as deep as Everling's, but it will help reveal new lore to those that take an interest in the stories behind the world of Norrath.

Other than the two that Cusa mentioned, there are two more that have been implemented. One of those two can no longer be found. That was the Investigation quest within Longshadow Alley. The other one began with a tale told on the boards. That tale was about an encounter one adventurer had within Windstalker Pond.

I hadn't thought of them as lore board quests, since it had been so long since the phrase was used here on the boards.

I'm guessing that one of your upcomming lore board quests will be a continuation of the investigation into longshadow alley. You can find the corpse of the investigator in the Nektulos bear caves, and the ornate dagger that was used to kill her. Anyone who did the longshadow alley part can investigate the dagger, but that's where it ends at the moment.

The room next to the room where you get the Ghost L&L.

After that, you get the actual quest by inspecting a painting in one of the sister's rooms.

Hmmm yes this windstalker pond reference intrigues me also and I would be interested to know if it was still in game and if so whether whatever post it was hinted about in has been implemented on the 'new' forums as I did a bit of a search around and didn't find anything that really screamed HINT at me.

Go look at the symbol in Windstalker, then go to Kaladim and open a safe inside the bank vault. If you get the combonation wrong, you have to wait 24 RL hours before you can try again.

thats like what 3 EQ2 months?
Cusashorn

... it's 24 real life hours. Why are you measuring the passage of time with EQ2 time?

Thanks to everyone who responded especially Cush and (wow) Vhalen! I'm gonna look into the Behemoth and the Windstalker pond quest this weekend. Both sound intriguing.

From what you are saying I get the impression that you can get the quest reward by completing Nek3, but you can also do a quest in Nek1? Or is it in Nek2? (sorry for being so obtuse about this )

No you have it right. there's a quest in Nek1 that gives the same quest reward as completing Nek3.

Wasn't sure if I was supposed to clear the room and the servant will pop or wait for one to walk in so I'm clearing just in case.

Finished the Windstalker one today. Wanted to kill my hubby, though.... he got all click-happy and managed to open the chest first and got discovery credit for our server. GRRRR! Obviously, he is *not* accompanying me on my Nek castle foray. LOL!

He says "other than the two Cusa mentioned there are two more" which makes four. I've done the Longshadow investigation, the one from the table in Windstalker Village, and I'm working on the Nek Castle one. So where's the fourth?

The fourth is the Behemoth quest which I'm pretty sure Cassahorn already linked in so I won't bother linking it again.

Guess I didn't realize that was considered a lore board quest.

I can't find the windstalker symbol for the life of me.. I've checked every table, desk, bedside and bar top. Where is it?

It's not an item that will highlight when you find it. A mouse tab will show up when you move the mouse to a precise area of the table.

Even though it's no longer in-game, can someone link the investigation quest info please, so those who didn't get a chance to do it can at least read what it was about? Or post a summary of what happened and what was learned? Thanks!

Oh, if i had some time, I'd post the screenshots from the investigation journal that you recieved if you completed the Longshadow Alley event.

It wasn't an actual quest. You just talked to Rylanna, and she tells you to stay out of her way, and that she's doing investigation work for the Freeport Militia. Eventually, she would begin walking around Longshadow, stopping at 5 or 6 locations. At each location, you were to click on an item that showed up. You would investigate it. When she finally went back to her starting location, you talked to her again and showed her enough evidence for her to complete her job, which was locating the residence of Opal Darkbriar. You got an investigator's journal as a reward.

Later, she was killed by assassins from Neriak, and her body is now found in the bear caves in Nektulos Forest, along with the ornate dagger that was used to kill her.

It pretty much tells you everything you did during the quest.
