First off I've tried contacting SOEs tech support page and it DOES NOT work.

This applies for both email and chat support:

1. Once I click on the chat or email support it prompts me to log in.

2. I log in

3. It takes me to a page saying Navagation Blocked-Certificate Error "The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address."

I figure its SOE a major company should have this looked after so I click "Continue to this website (not recommeded)" because closing the page does nothing.

4. The next page then reads:

The email displayed is the address currently registered to your station account. If this email address is not correct or is out of date, please change it using the form below. It is important that we have a working email address on file in order to process your Customer Service request.

NOTE: After updating your address, you will receive a confirmation email. You MUST click the validation link included in the confirmation before proceeding with your Customer Service inquiry.

5. I open my email click the validation link and it takes me to a page saying:

"Your Station account's registered email address has been successfully changed and validated. Thank you for keeping this information up to date! To continue submitting your Customer Service inquiry, please close this window and return to the original web browser at the In-Game Support menu."

6. I close that window and return. This puts me back to Step 1.

_____________________

Now heres my everquest2 problem:

I run the launchpad and it starts downloading the latest update.

The download bar reads download complete but what would normally change to the PLAY button still reads UPDATE only it is greyed out and unclickable.

I exit out restart computer and try again, now not only is it completing the download but when it completes it RE-DOWNLOADS it over and over.

So I look in the folders of freq. asked questions on the tech support page since I cannot contact anyone.

One person seems to have similar problems and the tech support guy who answered him said "go to msconfig and disable all start up programs, restart computer, then retry patcher. And if that doesnt work run anti-virus and a spyware removal program."

I do both of these in the order said (being careful so I dont further mess things up since i CANNOT contact TECH SUPPORT!)

This changes nothing and I am still experiencing the same problem!!! =(

So now I uninstall EQ2 deleting every trace of it I could find on my computer and reinstall EQ2.

Guess what! SAME PROBLEM!!!!!

So now I not only uninstall EQ2 but also EQ1 and reinstall.

SAME PROBLEM occurs! =

____

Thanks to anyone that takes the time to read this and I hope someone can help me or at least maybe a tech support guy will be browsing this!

yeah... I ran into this same problem a few weeks ago. My password for their tech site/forum/whatever is apparently not the same as the one I use to log into the game and into the forums. Why this is, I have no idea. It's a pain in the butt and I agree they should fix it. It's not like SOE is some cheap, third-rate company out there.

Having said that, I got pretty decent help when I finally decided to call them. I got ZERO help from a SOE TSR here at the forum, although many posters/players tried to help. Of course, finding the phone number can be a bit of a chore, too. I think it's been posted here a few times but I couldn't point you to the post. A search maybe? I eventually just got the support number from the instruction booklet that came with the game when I purchased it.

As I said, once I called, I got decent help. My "Out of Memory/Direct X Render Device" error message only happens every couple of hours now instead of every 45 minutes to an hour. It's an improvement, although my guildmates are hard-pressed to believe that when we are grouping.

Morg
