I would love to see quests for faction for your deity. Just like we can sell status points or do tasks for city factions, we should be able to give of our time and labour to carry out important tasks for our Deity. I can't believe everything our gods wanted set right in this world was accomplished once we got the cloak Sacrifices are well and good, but I want to do something for my god, too.

Tunare's Blessings!Zuiya Silverfern

Yeppers. I'd love some of that action. Just something giving say 150 faction for a bunch of mook slapping. Mooks recognised to be enemies of that particular diety. An amount like that would be on par with other writs, and also be comparable with a ropey sacrifice.

It'd be great to have as many writs per deity as the city factions, but fair enough, that is a lot. If there was only a couple of writs a tier that'd be fine. Or a solo and a group option. It'd keep give the whole deity thing a certain vitality, and opportunity to reinforce their place in the lore.

Thanks for your support of my idea And by all means, I am not suggesting this simply because I am cheap and don't want to part with valuables, it would just feel rewarding to have specific deity tasks and not just mindlessly dump "can't sell this on the broker" items on the altar. Reinforce their place in the lore, yes exactly

Tunare's Blessings on all!Zuiya Silverfern

I am curious what each diety would want killed since each one has such a unique objective from scorching the world, causing disease and fear, to growing gardens.

Each Deity should also have their own set of tradeskill writs.

Yeah,

but Deity faction was only put into the game as a money sink (you cant make money appear out of no where selling drops to merchants when you sacrifice them to your god).

So, i highly doubt they would ever put anything like this in the game

Eh...I'd be more concerned with God writs if the abilities were more useful.

As it is, I doubt I'll ever even use the faction points you get from doing the quests, much less sacrificing stuff for more points.

Very useful IMO. My mystic uses the tunara grove entanglement on raids also very useful 20s stifle to epic mobs. one of our guild requirments is to have your miricales loaded before raid time.

I'm not being snarky here....

I'm glad you found some that you like using and feel makes it worth it. Me, I don't raid with anything that could be generously called regularity. Mayhaps it's more effective for raiding than grouping.

Money sink or not, I also like the idea of deity writs or something similar.

Tunare can have you go blast a few undead of your level range, Rallos sends you go "motivate the troops." Anyway, it would be nice, heck you could even slip a little more lore in for us lore hounds out there, say mabey why Cazic wants a ton of Droags killed anyway...

Just a thought, and I'm in agreement, it really seems kinda lame that now that I've slain a few low end vampires Rallos is finished with me and I can maintain his favor by dumping a truck load of lousy weapons and armor onto my over decorated nightstand. Rallos wants blood, not trinkets!

I do like the idea of Diety writs and they could be tied into the lore as well

I like the idea as well. I hope something to that effect is put into the game.
LOVE this idea. Hope it ends up under discussion on a dev roundtable !

I'm not alone in my wish, yeay!

Adding a few tiny faction quests to our deity worship will hardly ruin the grand plan for manageing the economy. I am sure the transmuting business will still be crazy as ever. Bakasen said it very well imo: Rallos wants blood, not trinkets. Sure, a meaty sacrifice and some libation is good too, but if a ring here and a glove there is what they really want lore-wise, then they could just as well have stayed asleep in their realms with a thick layer of dust on top of'em and we'd have one less item to cram into our rooms.

I don't know what all gods would want. I haven't cultivated a relationship with them all, and I'm not in the quest developing team... But I do agree that those badgers have to pay one day, LOL!! That would be Brell worshippers' domain, maybe

Let's see... what could interfere with Growth, causing great concern for my beloved Tunare... Remember, healthy growth does not equal overgrowth, so a few herbivores are necessary to keep the balance and if there are a good balance of carnivores to eat the herbivores, then no need to interfere. Undead has no place in nature, so kill them and grind their bones to dust to be plant food! Go Growth!!

But if for instance a gnomish inventor has built a contraption to alter the weather, dispelling all rain clouds and making constant sunshine and a dreadful heat wave, that would be bad for Growth. Now, the easy thing might be to just get rid of such an inventor. But since nothing in everquest is straightforward and logical, one possible task could be: Fuzzbuzzle's weather machine runs on steam elemental power. You must remove the supply for the machine. Kill steam elementals in Steamfont 0/15. For instance. Throw in more steps if you like.

IDK... There has to be plenty of things one can do to aid our chosen deity's causes. I'm just throwing it out because I think it would enrich the game, the deity system, and be meaningful for those of us who like these things - in addition to those who have betrayed their deity and gone back and has a whole lot of favour to gain with few means

Tunare's Blessings!Zuiya Silverfern
