I don't know why, but the EQ1 AA's were so much easier to decide on what to get. I am mostly a solo Necro, who groups from time to time and will raid from time to time as well. Which would be the best AA's to get? Also, when doing these AA's should I be getting all 5 if there is 5 total in the one choice?Example: Greater RotDo I take all 5 in greater rot or just 3 to move on to the next one in the tree?

Guess the game can be a bit confusing. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Well, for soloing you want the tainted heals line. it will make you capable of soloing stuff using a tank pet that you wouldnt dream of trying without it. for raiding, lifeburn could be neat. I dont raid on my necro so I dont know really and it would depend a bit on what the raidforce needs most. In KoS, for soloing, go sta line. And for raiding, I'd go with int for the mage pet I guess, for some dps.

i am specced for raid DPS but if i were to do a solo spec it would be 5 points in each of the rotting line abilities and then lifeburn (21 total) then 5 in drawing of souls (26 total) then 4 in eternal chains, 2 for dispel, 4 for constrict, 5 for loathsome mark, then tainted heals (42 points total) and 5 in Enhance: Warrior Pet (47) putting the last 3 points into necrotic reformation.KoS: 5-8-8-8-0 in STA and 4-4-4-8-0 in STR.might not be the best set up, i am sure you could tweak it some like if you don't find yourself needing LB then you could drop 6 points in rotting line (not get LB or devour essence) then put those 6 points into improving your heals or whatever. or you might try going WIS line instead of STR for the extra +curshing/slashing/piercing/defense. i think this would be a pretty good set up to start at though and then tweak it a bit to make it fit your play style a little bit more.

<p>I would suggest u go ...</p><p>Tainted Heals in EoF: the second line from the right, put 5 in the root and the rest up to u.</p><p>Put 3-5 points in the middle line in Grave line (for the extra health)</p><p>STA: for the Taunt/rescue spell, stun and health increase. (i forgot if the last ability was worth it or not)</p><p>WIS: for the extra defense.</p><p>In that order, the rest is up to u, but the pet doesn't hold aggro that good anyway, so i didn't choose anything with DPS in it, but u also want to be useful if u found a group <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />, so might as well choose between Pacts for the extra heal boost, which is not worth it compared to Tainted Heals, or take the LifeBurn line, u can LB a mob at 20% while u're FD later on if u're soloing a Heroic to finish it off, or just for the extra boost in general DPS for grouping.</p><p>In the end, u can take what we suggest, if u feel the pet is holding aggro good, then u can drop anything u feel useless and take DPS AAs instead, it's up to u, i would suggest experimenting.</p>

Well, the great thing about the AA here is you can reset it.Which I've done many times, trying to figure out what works the best for me.I'm a solo'er also. And while I'm not gods gift to Necro's, I more then hold my own.I've gotten to where I can go solo in most the high level zones. Like MMC, Kaladim, I do the Acad all the time. Granted I can't take out the end boss of there (yet, i'm close though), I can take everything else out.The trick to taking on mobs that would send your necro butt into the afterlife, is keeping your pet as it's main target. Which of course, means your fighter pet, since it has about 20k hp before aa's.Okay, AA's, in Summoner Tree:Sta: 4-4-8-8Wis: 4-8-5-8I didn't find any of the end benefits really worth going for. Implode is okay, but not that nice. Reanimate is great if you use the scout pet. But for soloing, you need the HP of the fighter pet. never even tried the other 3, not needed for my style of play.Necro tree:Warrior Pet: 5Summoning: 5Eternal Chains: 5Dispel Magic: 1Constrict: 5Loathsome Mark: 4Drawing of Souls: 4Death Rot: 5Deathly Coil: 5Torrential Pestilence: 5Devour Essence: 4Tainted Heals: 1Okay, there is some leeway here. What is important is the Tainted Heals. It grants the healing of 18% of your pets TOTAL heal to 7 of your spells.Yes, thats 7 additional, NO AGRO heals. What I have, is on my fighter Pet, these additional stuff:Increased melee and casting skills around 32% closer to their cap.20% increase in their max health (which is why I get 30k+hp on my fighter pet)10% damage absorptionIncreased defensive skills around 10% closer to their cap.I also have Shockwave, which knocks all the mobs around down, and turns their agro onto my pet.Oh, and Perceptor's Command, which grants 100% chance to increase pets' hate position.and Animist's Transference which heals target for 921-1121 and inflicts 637-771 magic damage on my pet (which you don't noticed on the fighter pet).My equipment is only okay. have 2 of the void callers stuff, but the spirit summoner armor set is what you want, or at least, seems to be what I want.Which is the problem, because that requires grouping, and while you fighter pet is a great tank, it's not a MT replacement. Granted if you are in a group of scouts/mages/priests, it's a great tank, but I wouldn't want to be the MT in Unrest. So, if you are more into soloing, then into grouping, the necro is a great option, and so far, these settings have been working for me.The necro tree can be adjusted easily for your style of play, but I completely suggest having Tainted Heals, since it's what my whole AA soloing is set around.I did put points into my healing, but found that the Animist Transference was a better healer then putting more aa points into them.I'm also finding I don't cast my Drawing of Souls as much, because it cost an essence to cast, so I'm thinking of maybe taking points out of that and putting them into the Necromantic Brand, because it increases it's trigger chance, which would be more useful. Small note, Necromantic Brand is one of the spells that has the 18% healing attached, but it appears to be just for when the spell is cast, not for when it triggers (which sucks, would be great if it healed when it triggered).I bought the cards for changing my aa's to experiment with different settings. It takes a bit of adjusting, and you can NOT set it up so you can be decent at everything. You have to pick a pet and stick with it.When I get into getting either the rest of the void caller, or work on getting the spirit siphoning armor, i'm going to have to change my aa's to favor my mage pet.I have gotten into fights where I spent the whole time casting the spells I have that have the 18% heal attached, barely keeping my pet alive while he took the mobs out. Granted that because I got jumped by 5+ mobs, or some named Heroic dude, but I made it thru, alive, when I wouldn't of with any other aa settings.Good luck to any other Necro solo'rs, hope what i've found is helpful to someone.

<p>Nice detailed post Slack, but a few notes if u don't mind, and someone plz correct me if i'm wrong ...</p><p>I possessed the Tank Pet (adept 3) before and checked its health to find it has always been 8k or something close, with the full AA spec it jumps to 9.8k i think, was a long time ago (2 months <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src=" width="15" height="15" />), so don't remember exactly (it also has 40% mit and 35% (?) avoidance, right?).</p><p>I don't think it's true because it only affects spells as far as i know, but could that 20k HP come from being M1 Tank pet?</p><p>It would be better if u took the defense to max in the WIS line instead of the heal, simply because if the pet always held aggro (which it never does with me), u won't need to heal urself, or just use the 2 LifeTaps u have, much more frequent to use!</p><p>This is not a criticism or sarcasm, i'm trying to check the facts u stated against my own, i never was interrested in the Tank Pet, but i would like to have the correct info for sure, ty.</p><p>EDIT: forgot to ask, how can a heal be non-aggro? 0.o, actually, any kind of action u do on ur pet MUST generate aggro, there's nothing called non-aggro benefitial spell, someone have a solid fact on this plz?</p>

<p>Though I'm a raiding necro and speced for DPS when we get the house item that allows us to keep 2 AA specs I plan on making one of them a solo spec. The solo spec i'd go for is:</p><p><b><i>KoS (Summoner)</i></b></p><p>Possess Minion - 1</p><p><b>STA: 4-4-8-8</b></p><ul><li>Perceptor's Stamina - 4</li><li>Shockwave - 4</li><li>Perceptor's Command - 8</li><li>Perceptor's Bodyguard - 8</li></ul><p><b>WIS: 4-4-7-8-2</b></p><ul><li>Animist's Wisdom - 4</li><li>Animist's Transference - 4</li><li>Minion's Barrier - 7</li><li>Minion's Uproar - 8</li><li>Animist's Bond - 2</li></ul><p><b><i>EoF (Necromancer)</i></b></p><p><b>Gravecalling:</b> </p><ul><li>Enhance Warrior Pet - 5</li></ul><p><b>Manipulations:</b></p><ul><li>Eternal Chains - 5</li><li>Dispell Magic - 2</li><li>Constrict - 5</li><li>Dread - 3</li><li>Loathsome Mark - 5</li><li>Drawing of Souls - 3</li><li>Tainted Heals - 1</li></ul><p><b>Rotting:</b></p><ul><li>Death Rot - 5</li><li>Deathly Coil - 5</li><li>Torrential Pestilence - 5</li><li>Devour Essence -5</li><li>Lifeburn - 1</li></ul>
