This post is to show the number of distinct armor appearance available in the game. It is not meant to be a catalog of armor information.NOTE: I have distinguished armor first by pattern and then by texture. Several of the pieces will look similar but will have a different texture, such as the robes.NOTE: The collections are not complete. If you have a set not pictured below, please feel free to post the picture, and if it is indeed a distinct appearance not pictured below, I will add it to the collections.NOTE: Since there are multiple colors of several types of armor, I have chosen only one set of that armor to display. Many of the robes, gis, and other armors pictured below will be in multiple colors. For a few of the sets, I was unable to find the complete set, and so I have replaced the missing piece with an armor of the same style in a different color.FINAL NOTE: I will not be cataloguing each armor and listing names, zones, mobs that drop, etc. There are over 5,000 individual pieces of armor in the game and such a wealth of information would need a dedicated website to maintain and organize it. Since there are already websites in existence that do this, I see no point in redundancy. I've listed websites given to me at the end of the collections.(I also apologize for the quality. Wow. Great work.You can find the relic stuff on Ogrebear's site (http://ogrebear.com/?page_id=97).A few brief comments (because I love to quibble) :^)While the textures on a lot of the robes are different, I suspect a lot of people would look at, say, the first 4, and not be able to tell the difference. Robe with belt. Next!Depending on how you break them up, the top half of leather 1 and leather 2 are basically the same. Furthermore, they're also identical to the level 20 Ranger AQ (Highland Stalker) which is chain. So they're at least marginally available as chain. Also, pretty sure it's the same deal with 3 + 4 and 11 + 12. Same texture, different colors. Still, at least leather has some real variety. No wonder so many want to wear it....I think vanguard wearers may have the fewest actual looks. Most of those are almost the exact same model with different textures. Same pauldrons, same leggings, same everything. Again, no wonder so many of them want to wear something different. As far as I can tell, you're really only missing one common vanguard armor style, the new feysteel one (eq2.eqtraders.com and look for "plate armor preview" or whatever it's called).In any case, like I said, great job. It visually shows us why mages think they only have one robe, why tanks think mages have it lucky because at least their robes have different textures, and why so many people want to wear leather ;^)

I've been doing some "dressing up" with my toons too and it really is depressing just how little variation there actually is in stuff you can buy. So many items share textures, models and appearances that getting a look I like is proving to be difficult <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />There doesnt seem to be any unique appearances in tiers 1 through 5 at all - depressing.

If you look to the right of the docks waaaaaayyyy on the other side from the bell, you'll see a troll standing by a campfire. Talk to that guy to begin the series of quests. The boots were cloth boots that had the same graphic but in a different color because there were no Mess Hall boots on the broker when I took all those. (I had to do the same for the Stygian chain mail because there were no stygian pants when I took the screenies. It shares the same graphic as the Bloodlines pants and tunic.)And yes, there's very little differentiation between some of those, which is why I chose to put those pictures side by side. You can't really tell in those pictures, but for the first four robes, there actually is a difference in the texture of the fabric. The textures have different designs with one being more ornate than the other. I'm hoping that the new skeletons they're working with for armor designs might introduce a bit of "fresh air" to all this mix.

Good thing to know. Sapphirius still has the complete Mess Hall set minus the boots because she never got them. At the time, she was wearing the Mist Hide boots which had the same graphic until KOS when some of the armor appearances were changed... including Mist Hide to the pale quilted green appearance. The Mess Hall set along with the woven grass set (now tailored woven etched set) are one of the few armor sets that I felt actually looked good on my human warden as they both make her appear to have more curves, a more shapely rear end, and a less.... erm... buxom bust?EDIT: And what's with the whole <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src=" width="15" height="15" />" width="15" height="15"> on the smileys? Grrr. That's driving me insane!

At the time, she was wearing the Mist Hide boots which had the same graphic until KOS when some of the armor appearances were changed... including Mist Hide to the pale quilted green appearance. The Mess Hall set along with the woven grass set (now tailored woven etched set) are one of the few armor sets that I felt actually looked good on my human warden as they both make her appear to have more curves, a more shapely rear end, and a less.... erm... buxom bust?EDIT: And what's with the whole <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=" width="15" height="15" />" width="15" height="15"> on the smileys? Love the dark color, love the texture, but the flaps are not very flattering. I wonder if there's a leather armor with long flaps that uses the dark, crinkled cuirboilli texture....As for the top-heaviness, that's not as big an issue as the lack of definition in that area. Yes, the elves defy gravity, but that's less annoying to me (a male player ;^) ).As for ugliest chest area, that would have to be SOGA Erudite. What the heck happened =there= I wonder? I mean in old-style my Erudite Conjurer is tall and slender. In SOGA form, AIEEEE!

Here's a plate one you don't have displayed. I put a close up inset of how the chest looks. This is NOT an actual "set" of armor. It's actually a bunch of pieces with the same armor type graphic piecemealed together. There are well over 1000 pieces of armor in each weight (approximately 1300 to 1600 according to the item database searches), so that is between 5 and 6 thousand individual pieces of armor that will have to be found, listed, and categorized. Since there are already websites out there that do this, I will not be cataloguing armor appearances.Should anyone have questions about a particular set and where to find it, they need only ask, and I'm sure someone will give them an answer... usually several different answers as several different pieces carry the same appearance. For example, the first robe pictured in the second row had (I'm sure) well over 20 different color combinations. I actually lost count right around 17 the first time I tried counting them because I couldn't remember if I'd counted a red robe with white trim and red pants or a red robe with red trim and white pants.

The nice distinctive plate that MW2K2 posted can also be collected as a full set from a series of quests from a gnome going up into sinking sands from the beach path. That particular robe and color is the Tae'Ew Prophet Robe from Cazic Thule.There are also several other robes with the flame motif on them. A black, green and brown one from the Scout faction merchant in Qeynos, a red and black one from the new DFC recipes (Blood Threaded), a blue black and gold one from Varsoon's called the Oracle Robe, a black on black one called the Barrister's robe. There's the T6 crafted robe that's black white and silver, a bright gaudy neon-yellow one from the Claymore questline in SOS...

Blue robes that I can think of off the top of my head... Liandrin's Oracle Robe, Tundra Walker's Robe, I can't remember the name of the third I'm thinking of, but it drops off the Skywatcher in Tenebrous Tangle. The windcloth robe (either dropped or vender purchased) is also blue. There's a quested robe in Lesser Faydark at the Nighbright Camp that's blue. I don't have that robe pictured, but if someone else does and could post a pic of it, that would be awesome.Best advice, if you just want a blue robe and aren't particular about the pattern, is to walk up to your broker and start examining all the robes in your dressing room.

Thanks for the info Snowdonia{UPDATE}OK, The Desert Chitin Armor comes from the beetle herding quests given by Xilla Beetlebinder in the Sinking Sands.(She's located on the ramp from the beach to the desert). After completing each quest you are able to buy a certain piece of the set for 1cp. This is actually the only quest in SS that I never did back in the day...kinda came in handy last night for a little AA heh.Desert Chitin graphic is also shared by:Miscellaneous pieces including the ones Snowdonia named. Dropped in DoF (mostly in PoF Clefts and Silent City)Pristine Indium Vanguard CraftedAnd most likely a few other random pieces that I missed.p.s. the "Black Iron Plate" armor in Runneye, UNLIKE the "Black Iron Chain" is NOT black at all, but merely the original AQ graphic of pale grey devout style plate armor.

With LU#28 -all- of the crafted cloth had their looks changed (and mostly for the negative.. with the -exact same- look, colour and all, for any crafted in a tier no matter the name or handcrafted vs mastercrafted). thougt I would post some pics of some that I havn't seen yet. The plate one is missing the chest and gloves for I couldn't find them and know there is a chest and gloves for this set which drop in Everfrost as well as the blue chain set too. The robe is something I got off broker so not sure where it drops and it is lore. I thought I would take another frontal shot of the black chian armor that drops in Runnyeye. The 1st pic is a leather maroon set that drops in lavastorm. Then the green leather armor is the Emerald Hide set that is quested in Zek. Hehehe. That question has actually been answered a few times already. That particular color combination is the Scaleguard armor, which you can get by killing the droags in TT. It's typically very cheaply priced on the broker as well since it tends to be a fairly common drop. It also comes in red & black (inquisitor relic armor), white on white (vender-bought adamantite armor), and a couple other color combinations whose names I can't think of off the top of my head.

It's probably hard to fish it through the comments about wanting a catalogue of zones, mobs that drop, color variations, etc. I kind of tried to make it very clear in my first post that this was not a catalogue and that I wouldn't be catologuing anything since there are already websites out there that do this.It's just to show the variety of distinct appearances available for each armor weight. It was prompted by comments on the testing forum regarding mages and Rothgar's "shaft" factor. One poster mentioned that each armor weight had approximately the same number of items in the fluff armor thread (approximately 1300 to 1600). Unfortunately, that armor count did not take into consideration that many armor pieces share the exact same appearance. By the time you weed out duplicate appearances (either in the same or different colors), plate actually has the least variety available with leather having the most, so if the "heavier than" restrictions had remained on fluff armor, plate wearers would have been the ones shafted with chain wearers following in second, cloth in third, and leather wearers with the gratest variety available.# of distinct appearances in each weight (including appearances that I have not acquired pictures of yet and fabled appearances)<ul><li>Plate armor - 15</li><li>Chain armor - 17</li><li>Leather armor - 28</li><li>Cloth armor - 24</li></ul>Rothgar stated that the shaft factor with no heavier than restrictions was:<ul><li>Plate wearers - not shafted</li><li>Chain wearers - 25% shafted</li><li>Leather wearers - 50% shafted</li><li>Cloth wearers - 75% shafted</li></ul>But as the collections posted on the first page show, these numbers are not entirely correct. For those who can't log into the game to see which robe she's talking about, the robe referenced above has the flame motif pictured here but in a different color...[Image Removed]Unfortunately the only red one I can find is Blood Threaded, a mage-only rare recipe from DFC. The only purple one I can find is the one you already know of. Since I recently began raiding on my Shadowknight, I was graced with a Labs raid that gave me a Relic Plate Breastplate and two pieces of Blackcoat (since I was the only SK in the raid aside from MT and no Inquisitors). And I noticed a disturbing problem...<img src="http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y98/Solaran_X/EQ2_000081.jpg" border="0" alt="" />Unlike the other Labs armor sets (Paladin/Templar, Guardian/Berserker, Warden/Fury, Mages, Bruiser/Monk, etc., etc.) - two of the seven pieces of Blackcoat are Inquisitor only while the other five are Shadowknight/Inquisitor. Kind of depressing...since I love the graphic and a Troll with a pope hat would rock.[EDIT]Apparently the Firebrand (Paladin/Templar) set is the same way. Chest, Legs, Hands, Forearms, and Feet are Paladin/Templar, but the Head and Shoulders are Templar-only. Seems like a very odd arrangement, al biet very old also at this point in time.

The evil Bretheren armor is black and matches, but I can't get it. Why oh why do the arms and boots on the Marr set have to be ugly. The BP and Pants are such a nice shiny Silver. <pouts> I hope they fix the appearance on these. I am at work atm - so I can't put up any screenies, but it is cloth armor that looks like plate.

I think (but don't quote me on that) that you can get this from the armor vender, but you must be in the 60 - 69 range to even see it thanks to the update designed to reduce clutter and confusion that only allows us to see items within our level range. (I despised that stupid update!) It is the old indium appearance. When LU 24 hit, all crafted indium got a new appearance... which sucked cause they also changed the appearances of some dropped/quested armor as well, like the Misthide and Emerald Hide leathers.The reason why I'm not sure about the armor vender anymore is because Domino spoke of putting the LU 24 crafted appearances on the merchants for plate and chain since she changed the mastercrafted appearances for those two weights. I sincerely hope that she didn't do this. This appearance may or may not still be available on the vender. However, The beetle herding quest to feed the spiders in Sinking Sands will award a set just like this.Thanks for pics of the Inquis set! It shares the same appearance as the Scaleborn, so it won't make it into the collections pictured in the OP. It's nice to know that it's there though. I do need a picture of the paladin relic appearance, if anyone can find one. You know the one, the yellow power ranger suit? I also need to add in some of the EOF plate, like one of the legendary sets.Right now, I'm looking for a tunic to match this appearance set pictured below, which consists of the Gnomish Spring Boots, Dusty Bloodstained Gloves, Blood Threaded Pants of Altercation, and T1 crafted sleeves and bracers. I tried it with the Tunarian cloth (white) and with the Bloodstained tunic (red & grey), but neither of them match. I had a friend lvl 57 go to a merchant and buy me the armor but it was not the old graphic it was white i belive :/ and there was another armor she baught to but it looked like fulginate :/ so it looks like the quest or ebony stone greaves is what I need..thanks for the responses!!

Ya know, I'm not really sure, but there are two armor sets that share that appearance: woven engraved and vine woven. You could probably go to a database (like eq2idb) and look it up. Zhardiz's Leggings and JBoots also share that graphic, but they're a darker brown.

I thought to post this since you don't have this and all of the armor but the chest is droped off the mobs in DFC. I've got a few pictured, and there's a non-robe cloth set in the newbie zones that I need to get a screenshot of as well. There's T8 chain and leather sets that are red with skulls that I would love to get screenies off if anyone has those.

Nope. I have, however, linked sites where you can find names and loot information for clothing displayed in this thread, and Seagoat is in the process of creating EQ2Gallery, which will name each garment and the colors that they come in, where they come from, etc. Why am I not putting names to these outfits? Because many of them are mixed and matched pices from different sets. Also, a lot of images are sent to me and never identified as to which pieces are which.That particular gi is the ROK fabled monk gi. I don't know the name of it anymore, but I took that one on my monk when I was on beta.

As it just so happens, there is a breastplate that matches those pants. Mimnousa, a guildmate of mine found it, but she didn't think there was anything else that matched the breastplate. I'll hunt her down when she logs on again and ask her the name of it.

As a lvl 80 Conj (mage) I have to disagree on your shafted factor lol... I feel at least 80% shafted.. When trying to find armor to match my new Carp epic cloak I could find Zip... I really don't like EQ2s robe graphics we have basicly 1-3 stiles in 20(not exact count) colors/textures oh joy... And how can you say Plate wearers are shafted at all lol they can wear ANY thing.. Even is SOE is not all that creative with Heavy Armor graphics at least they have the choice to change in appear slots .. Mages don't really have that choice we have to choose from Cloth or umm cloth.... And any Cloth that I was able to find that had cool looking Pants or Sholders ended up not having a top that let them show. The Chest item would end up being a ugly robe Oh Joy another ugly robe lol..

That is the Tireless armor. It is quested armor from Kunzar Jungle, and I think a piece or two can be found from the goblin quests in Fens of Nathsar. Right now, I'm working on getting a full set of the leather armor from Jarsath Wastes to display in the thread.

Kraz'k's Gauntlets and Ichovarian Pauldrons... Yes, my inquisitor has been eying the market for some time looking for perfect matches for those two pieces. The closest I've come were orange shoulders to sort of match the gloves called molten something-or-other. If I find anything, I'll let you know. So far, I've not found perfect matches for those two pieces, but that red is sooooo gorgeous.

I've asked in another thread, but... does anyone know of a chain top and greaves that match the color and look of the newbie assassin armour? Do you mean the blackened iron or the quellithulian plate? The quellithulian stuff is pretty common from Vaults of Elurad. It happened around the same time that they removed most of the pieces of the Mess Hall armor and changed the appearance of the emerald hide to that dreadful bright glow-in-the-dark green. They also changed the appearance of the quested leather from Enchanted Lands which used to have the same appearance as the Mess Hall armor before that particular update.

Wow... I've been VERY busy in RL, so haven't had the chance to answer all these questions. Next..."where do u get this armor from please looks super cool or whats it called please?"That is the Manslayer's Gi, a monk/bruiser only garment that is mastercrafted for levels 77+. (The Blood Hide Adept Gi from DFC looks nothing like that.)There is also the Gi of the Jarsath Swifttail that shares the same graphic in slightly different colors. The Jarsath Gi can be worn by anyone who can wear leather, but I would seriously hope people would defer this awesome garment to any monks or bruisers in their group before rolling on it for appearances. I know that my bruiser has been trying for ages to get this gi, and the ONE time it dropped, I lost it on a need roll to a mystic... who then proceeded to equip it in her appearance slot.Finally... "I am looking for a green and white robe that looks similar to the robe of glad tidings. Does anybody happen to know where this comes from?Here's a picture of the glad, i'm looking for the one that is exactly like this one, but green."Those are GM/Guide quest rewards. The previous Void quest series did have a green & white robe of this pattern that you could purchase for service notes. (I believe it was 3 notes.) However, you can no longer buy them as of the last update. Don't fret though. With the next update, supposedly, all the previous Void quest items will return to the merchant. However, I've been informed that you will no longer be able to obtain the service notes to buy them. It's best you stock up on those notes now."Also I was curious about this green robe as well, do any of you know where it is from? Any info would be great, RGP fashion does not seem to be working for me, I see no pictures and the red makes me go blind."Those are part of the guide's green uniforms. You'll have probably noticed the tags under their names that said "Guides of the Shattered Lands." You can get similar robes, but not those exact ones.

Ok, this is more of a test for everyone... no picture, just vague description.I have heard there is a leather 'skirt' that is a reward for one of the newbie Darklight Wood quests. It is suppose to be a bruiser-only (maybe bruiser/monk) item. Does anyone know the name of the skirt, the name of the quest giver or even the name of the quest? Thanks everyone.

The skirt is brawler only (why I have no clue). According to my logfile, Danya Halfmoon gave them to me for the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Sablevein_Rubble" target="_blank">Sablevien Rubble</a> quest (even though the linked quest page doesn't mention them).aITEM 963920296 1269223178:Starched Padded Leggings/a(sorry for the big picture, it's raw, taken when my venekor bruiser was 28 when someone asked about it before. Robe of the Undying, which drops off Varsoon, in Palace of Ferzhul. This is faction armor from the Circle of the Unseen Hand and it is cloth armor. The light colored parts are metallic silver and the dark colored parts have hidden irredescent runes. They changed the runes to metallic silver on test so I suspect they are about to change them live as well. Expect silver runes covering most pieces with a large symbol of an eye with a knife through the center on the chest after the game update 51.<img src="http://gallery.mmoguildsites.com/img75796.jpg" width="254" height="526" />

Griime,you can still get KoS new "golden path quest" for paladin armor set that look same as relic set, i believe it is "Angelic Soul" set, last piece of armor when you get cloud mount at the end of quest series.

Random derail;I'd love to see a day when players can put anything into their appearance slot regardless of class requirements or even better, a merchant that allows you to buy specific appearance items for high prices to help destroy some of the massively way over abundant coin floating around in the game. I know I'd be willing to shell out some phat plat to get the appearance I want for my characters./Random derail.

THe BP kinda looks like Cuirass of the Jarsath (can buy that on the broker) the ravaged onslaughts are a mix of tradeable and heirloom pieces so some would have to be killed for (Seb, Chardok, etc)

Hit 90 with my little baby ranger. Still in the same equip that I have had most of the time. The Protector of the Faydark set off the marketplace and the Circlet of Frost from last winterfell. Also picked up the Turtleshell Pauldron from Jarsath. The weapons are Massive Bibrating Wirecutter from research halls and Ancient Kejek Axe from stonebrunt highlands. Rain Caller for the bow. Hey, that pink tunic the female iksar is wearing, anybody know a leg-slot item that matches that? There's the guide collection piece, but its either 88p a piece, and one of them isnt even on the broker.

That's not an armor set, that's an NPC model you can get as a similar illusion from completing the Drunder zones. I also have a similar illusion from LoN loot cards.

I am looking for armor pieces that would match these cloaks and chest piece. I am a scout and therefore that chainmail that is on the Marketplace simply won't do. The pally is wearing the SF T1 raid armor. You need to know that current shoulders are different from merc ones.

I would love to see pics of female erudites wearing different sets of plate armor. I haven't seen any on this forum yet.
