No skill ups?

I have a level 13 iskar bruiser and I can't get either safe fall or swimming to skill up.  I am still at 5 for both and just spent over 15 minutes swimming in a stream with no movement in my skill. For safe fall, I have been jumping everywhere and not even getting the message "you land softly." It's either nothing or I take damage or die from damage. Anyone else experience this?

<p>Get yourself some totems of the otter and try swimming underwater. Most of my gals gain ONLY when swimming below the surface. </p><p>As to safe fall, good luck. I find it the hardest skill in the game to raise. Just keep trying taller and taller stuff. Eventually you'll either die or gain. </p>

This is crazy. 50 jumps off the griffin tower in Nek sometimes taking damage and sometimes not. Still no skill ups. Stuck at 5. As for swimming, I have been swimming all over the ocean in Nek with no luck. I may have to try the under water breathing to see if that works.

Swimming gains definitely got nerfed within the last 6 months. I levelled Taear from 1-70 between march and Darathar's merge with Venekor. He gained swimming almost the moment he touched the water, every time, and I never went through a level without getting max swimming. I levelled Pikk to 70 just after the merge. He'd got to level 25 pre-merge and had his swimming maxed. Since then I've got maybe 30 gains. That's in three months. And it's not like he never did much swimming. Nor is it something to do with stats, since he has high str/agi and as low int/wis as Taear did. I don't understand why they've changed it but there's no doubt in my mind that they have.
