I don't know how many people actually ordered the Equinox magazine but I found the magazine really enjoyable. While I do enjoy leveling my character I was pleasantly surprised that there were other people out there who just enjoyed playing the game with no real ambition other than to have fun. I am not much of a role player even though I played Dungeons & Dragons, Runequest, Rifts....etc but I like the story content and the feeling that my character is uncovering some game history or clues to future content. The articles in the magazine focused on this aspect more than anything else for the most part and tried to make it clear that there are other ways to enjoy the game besides the quest grind or power leveling.

That said, I was a power leveler at one time and can certainly sympathize with those who still are. There is nothing cooler than having uber-gear or the stunning mount. Your value to any group is unquestioned for what you could bring to it. But, it is with my newfound spirit of enjoyment that I no longer mind all the quibbling and fighting on the forums about this or that as long as it doesn't affect the gameplay already established.

So the only real question you have to ask yourself it this:

In spite of everything you find distasteful or wrong does the game still offer you something you enjoy. For me the answer is YES !
