When I started playing I though the oppurtunity to sell in game items for real cash was a nice feature. I figured soe just took e-bay out of the equation and didnt think twice...

So, what are the pros and cons of the exchange servers??

I have never played on any other servers, so I can't give any 'solid' feedback. But I do hear that the broker prices on Bazaar are at least a little more stable/reasonable that on other servers. Can't prove it myself, but I've heard it more than once, and never heard the opposite. The pop on bazaar ain't bad either. I have never had a problem getting a group going, altho it does take a tad longer in the mornings.

The fact that you can potentially pay for your subscription fees and expansions just by playing the game makes the idea amicable to some.

Given the sheer volume of time invested in the game, I personally feel like it isn't a bad thing...especially if you're in college or have a lot of bills to pay.

Some people will not like you for it...but they typically aren't on your server. I've found some people just won't like you in general, no matter what you do, but such people aren't paying your bills and will likely never make any sort of positive impact on your life, so why should their opinion impact your decisions?

The other potential con is there may be some players who are a bit more loot focused and greedy...but come to think of it, that is the same on non-exchange servers too...especially since loot to some of those folks means more to them than money.

I remember when they let everyone on the servers vote on their server becoming "Exchange". My guess would be that the resounding vote was no since they opened two new servers instead.

*shrug* I still have mixed feelings about it. But that shouldn't stop you from playing on it if you enjoy it.

Keep in mind, some of the non-exchange servers have a higher population which equals easier time finding groups.

The Bazaar is a great server. It has a healthy population, and the broker prices are pretty reasonable.

As already mentioned, you can make cash selling plat or items legally, and you can also buy items legally. Oddly enough we still get spam from plat selling websites...that boggles my mind.

For me the best aspect of the Bazaar is the comunity. This is my 2nd migration to the exchange server. Both times I've found that the comunity tends to be more mature. You have to keep in mind the reason why many move to these servers. Players with families, and limitted gaming schedules, that wrather dive into the aspects of the game they enjoy most, rather than farming cash to supliment their gear. People willing to spend real cash for plat. Tend to be older folks.

The con of course is that it's a one way trip. You can never do a character transfer to a non exchange server.

Its also only open to US citizens. Probably because of some stupid international trade law somewhere...sigh.

The population of Vox is fine because it is a PvP server. High population and pvp don't really mix unless you like getting killed the instant you gate out of the city.
exactly how many people would a healthy population be considered as?
