I just bought a kicking new machine. AMD chip, 2 gig mem, 8800gfx vid card. Running Vista, patched with updates.

I've been playing the game 2 weeks with no problems, then suddenly the mouse is sticking for up to 10 seconds every 4-6 seconds. It is intolerable.

Only happens with EQ2 client running.

HELP. What could be wrong? I haven't installed any new software, or any new hardware. I guess it could have been since the patch? Is this a known issue?

thx

If this is a wireless mouse and you have other wireless devices close by running, then that would cause this.

If its a dualcore cpu controle that the game runs on CPU0 and not CPU1 if its runs on CPU1 then you get mouse lag

Sorry for not replying sooner - I thought I had the problem solved, but it has returned.

So the chip is AMD's latest dual core.

I've noticed it is happening outside of EQ2, even when I'm in Word or using IE browser. So I guess this is not an EQ2 issue at all.

The mouse is an optical mouse with usb cable connect. I've noticed when the hesitation occurs, the mouse light turns off. I tried switching usb ports and the same behavior continues. It does not appear to be hesitation on the UI (for instance, in Word, the cursor continues blinking).

Any ideas what is happening? Running Vista ultimate with all the latest patches. This is very frustrating.

EDIT: Disregard. I switched to a different optical mouse and it seems to be working fine now. Strange, that mouse worked forever with no problems, just goes to show eventually everything fails.
