View Full Version : Collection Turn in request

Can we please have the ability to choose which collection(s) we want to turn in?

Sometimes we dont want to turn in all the collections at once. Maybe for reasons of xp but sometimes its a storage issue. A lot of the collection rewards arent all that useful (think the illusions that dont fool anyone for starters). We just dont want to store all the stuff but wanted to finish the collection. On the other hand, some of the collections are useful - think Gnomish Collection Goggles.

Is it really asking too much to have the ability to choose "All", "Selected" or "None" when we go to the collector to turn in collections??

How about having the collector open up the reward for each collection when you hail him BEFORE you turn the collection in. IE - go to the collector and he reviews all the collections marked as complete and ready for turn in. The reward is linked next to the collection now and you can examine it and make the determination whether or not you want to turn in the collection at that time.

Actually an idea that I think would be a very welcome addition.

It would be nice to choose which ones to turn in at any given time.

Here, Here! A fine idea and a rather reasonable request I should think.

We *used* to be able to do this - it used to be that you hailed Mervos the Pervos (or whomever it is in Freeport, Neriak, Kelethin) and instead of just "I have a collection", you would get a list of the various collections you had and you could pick out the one you want to turn in.

One thing you *can* do (this is what I do anyway) is save the final piece for any collection turn-ins in a bag that you have checked the "Contents are not for sale" checkbox on (so you don't accidentally trash them to a vendor). Then, go visit old Merv, and just add the final piece to whichever collection you want to turn in. This way you can wait until you're mentoring someone if you need to level down to get AA, you can also see which collections yield which rewards, and you can see how much exp you get from each turn in.

Still, I'd love to see the return of the old "I have a collection of _____" selections available when hailing him, rather than just having them turned in en masse.

Yeppers. This would be a peach of an addition.

With the AA issue, it's proving a significant importance to consider mentoring when handing in collections. But when you have a 35, a 50, and a level 60 collection all completed, something it gonna get lost.

They have a pre-set amount of XP. The value does not change if you mentor down. In fact, you're restricting the XP earned from high level collection quests, so it's actually bad to mentor down.

That's the only reason I mentor to turn them in.

no, of course not. But every little bit helps!

But like I said, don't turn in high level collections at a low level. You're actually limiting the maximum amount of XP you could gain from that quest. They have XP restrictions in place to prevent powerleveling by allowing players kill red con monsters. Same goes for collection quests and anything 20 levels higher than you.

Yep, it used to be like that a long time ago.It is one of those things that SoE changed for so apparent reason and made it worse.

I would really like a dev's official word on the mentoring for hand-in issue. Are you meaning to tell me that a level 50 handing in a level 10 collection quest (the moths, for instance) would get the same amount of AA experience as if he was mentored to level 15 to hand it in? How about a 50 handing in a level 35 collection quest? In other words, is there any scaling reward like there is for adventure quests from "changing the con color" of a collection quest? It's all very confusing (and very difficult to find level 15s willing to mentor. ).

I can think of a way to test it, but not sure about how feasible it will be.Find someone who hasn't done collections from a certain set IE: Butterflies/Moths collections in Freeport/Qeynos.Have them mentor down and turn in one set, check the AA gain.Have them unmentor and turn in another set, check the AA gain again.

bump this thread agree completely. No reason to take up bank space with that last collection item just to avoid turning it in. Should be your choice like it used to be to turn in which collections are ready.

just to bring up a personal frustration that I know I share with many others again...if you have MANY collection quests saved up for the upcoming level cap raise... but then want to finish a quest line...IE: SODYou have to turn in ALL those collection quests in order to finish just one needed for SOD progression.Options:(1) Save the collections and forget about SOD or any collection that might give a needed reward but be ready for some extra EXP come expansion.(2) Essentially waste all the time/money spent to get the items but finish a quest line or two.neither are very attractive IMO...

Just save the last collection piece for each set you wish to turn in later in the bank.
