With the upcoming increase in max guild level to 80, has there been any thought put into increasing the faction limits from 50k and then adding more titles? I know several people who are at max faction with at least one of the city factions through grinding writs. It would be pretty cool IMO if there could be some additional titles put in at 60k, 70k, 80k, etc. that they could work towards while they start grinding writs again.

I'm sure this isn't as simple of a change as it might sound, since all factions in the game work off the 50k limit. Just wondering if there has been any mention of doing something like this or not.

Rather than increasing current limits which would, as you say, be more difficult as all factions in the game are based on that same -50,000 to +50,000 scale - how about introducing 5 new city factions in the game based on the same numbers but require an "application" to join. That application is a letter of referral from the original faction which can only be obtained with a faction of +50,000.

For instance (qeynos example)-

Ironforge Exchange (current city faction): +50,000 purchase letter of referral and take it to Azurite Artisans for application. Azurite Artisans would then send you on a "access" style quest to prove your worthiness by doing something to show your knowledge of your former faction +something making you worthy of acceptance to this higher group. In this case of the crafting faction, perhaps you are required to do something along these lines:

Initial Test:

Multi-choice question from NPC (artisan class specific so they ask a few questions to a carpenter the carpenter should know about their craft)

Application Test: All tiers tested by going through a quest for each. Each step should have an appropriate timer for travel and completion. This requires knowledge of the world and the zones. Upon failure of any timed step the quest must be repeated. Upon completion of each tier, the next tier exam opens.

Find a zone where the materials can be harvested to make [RECIPE] - ding on zone in

Harvest the appropriate number of materials to make [RECIPE] - ding on harvesting

Create pristine [RECIPE]

Return to NPC to have [RECIPE] inspected

Final Test: Given the Essentials book for level 70 for their class. This step will be the same as the Application test but is going to require T8 knowledge.

Upon completion of the Final Test, the toon is given Initate status into Azurite Artisans and can begin doing writs for faction increases.

For these new factions, I would add that I would like to see some actual benefit besides a title. Something that is useful in the game. Perhaps discounts such as small discounts with merchants which can increase with each tier of faction gained (2% - 10k, 4% - 20k, 6% - 30k, 8% - 40k, 10% - 50k)

Artisan guild: fuel merchant discounts

Fighter: mender discount

Sage: book and consumables discounts form various merchants (planar symbols, pearls, potions, etc)

Priest: broker discount (priest are non-profit organizations after all...LOL) or perhaps a druid at the local temple that will port you to any of the druid ring sites you have harvested and have access to??

Rangers: discount with city merchant bowers and harbor masters

Hmm, I didn't think about that, that's a really cool idea. I don't really care either way about having the titles be useful; for me just obtaining the title (and knowing you helped the guild level) is reward enough. But adding something useful like you describe, or even just adding fluff-type stuff for different faction levels, would be icing on the cake.
