I'm not sure this is the right forum for this, nor did I find anything on search, but that is not to say it hasn't already been wished for multiple times already.

This idea came about after some discussion with a guildmate of mine, so it is mostly her idea, but she wanted me to post it.

A Travel Tab or something of that nature would be a nice addition, heck if it already exists somewhere please let me know, we cannot find it, hehe. What it would be is something where all the griffin towers, stables, druid rings, dungeon access quests or whatever else that needs to be unlocked in the game, would appear. The things that need access could be revealed or expanded once people reach a certain level or whenever something is interacted with. It could be anything from a subtle hint, to an outright quest that automatically pops up, to just a checklist of sorts that appears within the Travel Tab area attached to the Journal.

A few people in my guild are newer and they are picking up quests that are redundant and yet cannot be deleted, such as some access quests for zones that are open to all now by bell. Most of them are Hallmark quests that should be taken out of the game or have a strong warning attached to them about no longer being necessary and not being able to be deleted once you accept them.

Anyway, addition of a Travel Tab type option as well as the deletion or elimination of the redundant access quests would be very helpful.

Thanks!

Hallmark quests don't count towards your quest count, so there is no need to delete them. You could argue that now that they arent necessary, you should be able to delete them, but it's work that isnt needed. They arent hurting anyone by being in your journal.Secondly, why does it matter that lowbies in your guild are picking up such quests. Just because it isnt necessary to complete them anymore, doesn't mean that some dont enjoy doing them.

In leveling up my latest alt, I've been doing all of those redundant access quests. I would be very annoyed if they removed them (or any quests for that matter) from the game.

Some people enjoying playing all content in the game, personally I wish they hadnt removed some of the quest which were removed along with some of the collection items associated with them

The access quest are still enjoyable and for appropriate level toons provide good xp and in some cases access to instance zones which still provide benefits. Those instance zones are not part of the end result of the quest - for instance -

All players can get to Zek now without doing the access quest but in doing the access quest you get access to the Zek, Pride of Prexus zone. Decent xp run for appropriate level toons because it occurs on a ship, small zone, ring event basically. And its something different to do. Maid for the Mist is similar although Enchanted Lands is open to all. Those small instances can still be fun to do so please dont discount them to much, they add variety to the game and definitely arent hurting anyone in the journal counts.

I wish they would reinstate the access quest and amp the xp in them a bit making them more valuable to players to acquire. Originally they were part of a natural progression (Congrats you made it this far, now earn the right to move on). Anyway..my 2cp worth.

Personally, I don't want redundant access quests that I can't get rid of in my Journal, so I agree with the OP. If you want to do them, fine... more power to you. If you don't want to do them, however, then there should be an option to delete or at the very least a warning that you cannot delete this quest once you get it. You might argue "Then don't pick up the quest in the first place" but what about those quests that were already in my Journal and are now not necessary for access to something? Or what if you dont' KNOW it's a redundant access quest? I dunno... I'm just [I cannot control my vocabulary] I suppose. I delete grayed out or redundant quests as a general rule and like to keep my journal book nice an neat. Maybe it's an accountant thing. <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src=" width="15" height="15" />" width="15" height="15">

What would be nice on a Travel Tab also would be the ability to see what Druid Ring leaves you have picked up. I never can remember which ones I have and which ones I still need to get. Anyway.... it seems folks are homing in on only one part of the OP's post (deleting a few redundant Hallmark quests). I like the idea of a travel tab to show us what places we need access quests for, what druid ring leaves we need, etc etc. I also like the warning idea... if you are about to pick up a quest that can't be deleted but isn't really needed for anything other than your pure enjoyment, then we should have a warning at the least.

Morg

EDIT: Um... since when did "a nal-retentive" constitute a "I cannot control my vocabulary" message???

If you like to do them, then more power to you, Effie. Speaking for myself, I want the option to delete a quest that isn't necessary for anything other than enjoyment or satisfaction.

Morg

The reasons for not having the "unknown" or "unaccomplished" items listed is the spoiler factor. If your toon doesnt know it exist, how will they know to do it.

What would be interesting to have there is a list of all travel related items you have in your posession or abilities. For instance:

Druid Ring - Antonica

Druid Ring - Commonlands

Druid Ring - Steamfont Mountains (Discovered)

Carpet of the Shimmering Citadel

Call of Ro

Call of Qeynos

Return to Splitpaw - Teleport to Splitpaw (too bad they didnt include something similar for Bloodlines and Fallen Dynasty)

Journeyman Boots - 10% runspeed

Spirit Totem of the Wolf (4) - 24% runspeed

Escape Root (1)

Spirit Steed - 48% runspeed

Floret of Growth - Return to Kelethin

I put the Steamfont Moutain (Discovered) just as a thought - perhaps if you discovered the ring but for one reason or another didnt harvest the bush it chould show up to show that you know of something but havent mastered its ability yet.

These types of things would show you your arsenal of travel options (listing spell abilities and runspeed buffs for those classes with them might be of interest as well).

To be more clear on the quest removal. Yes, I think you should be able to delete any non-complete quest from your journal, just dont remove the quest from the game please.

Wow, didn't expect a defensive response here. No need for that really. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and preferences, this or that. Ok then, onward.

I am glad that the main point of the message, some way to keep track of the content that needs to be unlocked, was noticed and explored a little.

These were just a couple ideas to enhance the game for me personally and take away some of the things that annoy me, even if you do not take them out of the game for those who like them, at least let me delete them if that is my wish. That was part of my message as well, take out and/or deletion capability, understand?

Both win. Great!

As an alt-aholic, I do not remember which characters of mine (13!) have harvested a specific Blessed Shrubbery, unlocked a specific Horse Stable (ala Lesser Faydark), an entire Horse System (ala Greater Faydark) or Griffon System (ala Thundering Steppes) so having that information available in-game would be very helpful to me.
