<div align="center"><b><span style="font-size: medium;">A Tour of Norrath During the Age of Turmoil, Vol. II: Faydwer and Odus</span></b></div><div align="center">By: Tortona Troodont, Crusader of Greenmist</div><div align="center">Dedicated to: Summerlove</div><span style="font-size: medium;"><b><u>Faydwer</u>:</b></span><u>I<b>ntroduction</b></u><b>:</b> Faydwer is a relatively small continent that, due to its particular mix of racial inhabitants, appears to have had a less violent history than some of Norrath’s other land masses. The most prevalent of Faydwer’s inhabitants are the Dwarves, the Gnomes, and the light Elves, who fled here after the destruction of their homeland during the Age of Blood. Faydwer is a very mystical place, one in which magic seems to fill even the air above the landscape. I have frequently argued with other learned Iksar that Faydwer is the most magical of the known continents; my more academic colleagues tend to grant that distinction to Velious. The climate of Faydwer is predominantly wet and cool, dominated by enormous evergreen forests such as the mythical forest of Faydark. The Butcherblock Mountains to the far west of Faydwer provide an imposing barrier to foreign invasion and are often referenced as the site of major battles in stories of Ogre and Goblin invasion. To the south-east active mountain-building appears to be responsible for large amounts of hydrothermal activity in the region known as Steamfont. The Steamfont mountains run along the length of Faydwer, bisecting the continent and separating the Faydark from the southern Loping Plains.<b><u>The Tour</u>:</b> <b><u>Ak’Anon</u></b> - <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/AkAnon/EQ000240.jpg" target="_blank">The city</a> of the Gnomes is one of the most befuddling places in all of Norrath. Here in <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/AkAnon/EQ000239.jpg" target="_blank">artificial caves</a> the Gnomes have constructed <a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/AkAnon/EQ000242.jpg" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">enormous buildings</a> and machines to aid them in their various trivial pursuits. The Gnomish love of knowledge is obvious in their home town. While <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/AkAnon/EQ000246.jpg" target="_blank">their temples</a> are somewhat humble, <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/AkAnon/EQ000244.jpg" target="_blank">their library</a> is extensive and well-researched. The Gnomes have various means of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/AkAnon/EQ000247.jpg" target="_blank">obtaining power</a> to fuel their construct defenders. Ak’Anon can be <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/AkAnon/EQ001574.jpg" target="_blank">confusing to navigate</a>, and the Gnomes have built mechanical <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/AkAnon/EQ000241.jpg" target="_blank">tour guides</a> to help foreigners who may come to visit the diminutive residents. Fascinated with the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/AkAnon/EQ001578.jpg" target="_blank">living</a> as well as the metallic, the Gnomes keep <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/AkAnon/EQ001575.jpg" target="_blank">a zoo</a> filled with <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/AkAnon/EQ001577.jpg" target="_blank">animals</a> gathered from the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/AkAnon/EQ001576.jpg" target="_blank">surrounding lands</a>. Hidden in <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/AkAnon/EQ001589.jpg" target="_blank">abandoned caverns</a> a small sect of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/AkAnon/EQ000248.jpg" target="_blank">mages</a> have established themselves, worshipping their plague God and practicing their dark arts in secret, waiting for the proper time to overthrow the current Gnomish authority. <b><u>Steamfont Mountains</u></b> - It is within the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Steamfont/EQ000235.jpg" target="_blank">Steamfont</a> (often mistakenly called Steamfront) Mountains that the Gnomes have built their <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Steamfont/EQ001588.jpg" target="_blank">puzzling home</a>. Ever obsessed with the night sky, the Gnomes have built several <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Steamfont/EQ000238.jpg" target="_blank">telescopic observatories</a> within Steamfont, silently observing Norrath‘s celestial heavens. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Steamfont/ebon_drake.jpg" target="_blank">Drakes</a> and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Steamfont/a_skeleton.jpg" target="_blank">skeletons</a> can often be found roaming the hills in pursuit of victims, mostly Gnomish in nature. To the North <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Steamfont/EQ000254.jpg" target="_blank">Minotaurs</a> have constructed <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Steamfont/EQ000253.jpg" target="_blank">extensive mineshafts</a> in service of their <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Steamfont/meldrath.jpg" target="_blank">small master</a> while <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Steamfont/EQ000251.jpg" target="_blank">rogue clockworks</a> have severed their ties with the Gnomes and chosen to live among <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Steamfont/EQ000252.jpg" target="_blank">discarded mechanical bits</a>. The <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Steamfont/Grikbar_Kobold.jpg" target="_blank">Grikbar clan</a> of Kobolds <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Steamfont/steamfont-grikbar.jpg" target="_blank">reside</a> to the West, <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Steamfont/EQ000236.jpg" target="_blank">living</a> at peace with most other races but constantly being hunted down for their enchanted Steamfont water. The Gnomes have constructed several enormous <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Steamfont/EQ000250.jpg" target="_blank">windmills</a> on some of the higher peaks, perhaps in order to power their bustling <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Steamfont/EQ000237.jpg" target="_blank">mechanical city</a>. The <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Steamfont/steamfont-bones.jpg" target="_blank">skeletal remains</a> of a Dragon lie atop one of the hills within the region covetously guarded by territorial undead. <b><u>Lesser Faydark</u></b> - Traveling Northwest from the Steamfont Mountains we eventually find ourselves in the conflicted <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000266.jpg" target="_blank">Lesser Faydark</a>. Here various factions have positioned themselves in hopes of dominating this important part of Faydwer’s largest forest. The Gnomes have a small <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000256.jpg" target="_blank">observational outpost</a> near the border with Steamfont, while the Teir’Dal have set up a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000261.jpg" target="_blank">small base camp</a> to assist in their various meddlings. The Orcs of Clan Crushbone have established a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000260.jpg" target="_blank">powerful force</a> in the middle of the forest, perhaps as a staging ground for raids in the region. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000259.jpg" target="_blank">Fairies</a> are common this deep within the Faydark and have at least one <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000279.jpg" target="_blank">small village</a> constructed from <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000280.jpg" target="_blank">enchanted mushrooms</a> which grow here. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000262.jpg" target="_blank">Fae Drakes</a> can be found from time to time fluttering about the forest, especially in the region near the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000265.jpg" target="_blank">Druid Rings</a>. Mischievous <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000281.jpg" target="_blank">Brownies</a> also live within the wood but travelers are wise to avoid their miniature town. The only good Brownie is a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/brownie.jpg" target="_blank">dead Brownie</a>. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000283.jpg" target="_blank">Bandits</a> have taken up positions at choke points along the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000286.jpg" target="_blank">busier roads</a> in the forest, preying upon weary travelers and unprotected caravans. The most notorious of these bandits are the feared <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000264.jpg" target="_blank">Nybright sisters</a>, a band of ruthless Feir’Dal well-known for their luck at catching wealthy merchants. The dangers of the Lesser Faydark extend well beyond those posed by common thugs. A <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000257.jpg" target="_blank">strange structure</a> stands silent within the forest, heavily guarded by enigmatic <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000258.jpg" target="_blank">shadowed men</a>. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000263.jpg" target="_blank">Obelisks</a>, similar to some seen in the Desert of Ro and Mountains of Rathe, can be found here surrounded by mummified undead. Signs of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000284.jpg" target="_blank">corruption</a> are visible in some of the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/equestrielle.jpg" target="_blank">local flora</a>, causing them to attack everyone they see.

<b><u>Castle Mistmoore</u></b> - On the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Castle%20Mistmoore/EQ000267.jpg" target="_blank">farthest edges</a> of the Faydark Forest lies hidden the dark keep of the vampire lord Mistmoore. The castle is located near a set of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Lesser%20Faydark/EQ000265.jpg" target="_blank">Druid Rings</a>, on a long and lonesome road in front of a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Castle%20Mistmoore/EQ000268.jpg" target="_blank">dark cemetery</a>. Within the cemetery, among the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Castle%20Mistmoore/EQ000270.jpg" target="_blank">odd</a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Castle%20Mistmoore/EQ000269.jpg" target="_blank">tombstones</a>, can be found a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Castle%20Mistmoore/EQ000272.jpg" target="_blank">secret entrance</a> to the castle guarded by a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Castle%20Mistmoore/EQ000271.jpg" target="_blank">lone shadowed man</a>. The outside of the castle is well-protected by <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Castle%20Mistmoore/EQ000273.jpg" target="_blank">blood wolves</a> and Mistmoore’s <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Castle%20Mistmoore/EQ000274.jpg" target="_blank">lesser minions</a>. Inside the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Castle%20Mistmoore/EQ000275.jpg" target="_blank">gates</a> of this luxurious citadel <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Castle%20Mistmoore/EQ000277.jpg" target="_blank">vampires</a> roam <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Castle%20Mistmoore/EQ001573.jpg" target="_blank">the halls</a> thirsting for the fresh blood of intruders. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Castle%20Mistmoore/EQ000276.jpg" target="_blank">A ballroom</a> and fascinating library are among the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Castle%20Mistmoore/EQ000278.jpg" target="_blank">accommodations</a> Mistmoore maintains for his guests, be they willing or unwilling. <b><u>Greater Faydark</u></b> - The Greater Faydark comprises the Eastern portion of Faydwer’s <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Greater%20Faydark/EQ000288.jpg" target="_blank">enchanted wood</a>. This part of the forest is substantially less dangerous than its Western counterpart, with only the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Greater%20Faydark/EQ000296.jpg" target="_blank">Crushbone Orcs</a> of the North to threaten wandering adventurers or travelers. These Orcs operate out of their home in <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Greater%20Faydark/EQ000297.jpg" target="_blank">Crushbone Keep</a> and have developed a habit of burning and cutting down the trees in which the Wood Elves make their homes. The largest of these aloof villages is the Feir’Dal capital of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Greater%20Faydark/EQ000291.jpg" target="_blank">Kelethin</a>, perched high atop the mighty branches of the trees of Faydark. A complex <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Greater%20Faydark/EQ000289.jpg" target="_blank">road network</a> connects <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Greater%20Faydark/EQ000290.jpg" target="_blank">Kelethin</a> with its neighboring city, <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Greater%20Faydark/EQ000043.jpg" target="_blank">Felwithe</a>, the city of the High Elves. Outside of Felwithe are a towering set of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Greater%20Faydark/EQ000287.jpg" target="_blank">Combine Spires</a> used now and again by Koada’Dal Wizards as they rush from one continent to another using their ancient magic. An occasional <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Greater%20Faydark/brownie.jpg" target="_blank">Brownie</a> can be found in this part of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Greater%20Faydark/EQ000313.jpg" target="_blank">the wood</a>, scouting out the happenings of the Elves. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Greater%20Faydark/wasp.jpg" target="_blank">Giant wasps</a> are a constant nuisance (and source of novice hunting) for the residents of Kelethin. <b><u>Kelethin</u></b> - The <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kelethin/EQ001407.jpg" target="_blank">Feir’Dal</a> capital is <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kelethin/EQ000032.jpg" target="_blank">a marvel</a> to behold, if for no other reason than the fact that it has <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kelethin/EQ001459.jpg" target="_blank">stood</a> for so long without being burned down by malice or carelessness. The Elves, far from the arboreal climbers of foreign legend, actually gain entry to their city by means of automatic <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kelethin/EQ000292.jpg" target="_blank">altitude-elevating contraptions</a>, perhaps indicating the Gnomes have proven themselves a bad influence on their Elven allies. Living without the use of higher magics, the Wood Elves rely heavily on their <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kelethin/EQ000293.jpg" target="_blank">Warriors</a> and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kelethin/EQ000295.jpg" target="_blank">Rangers</a> to protect the city from Orcish aggression. <b><u>Felwithe</u></b> - Felwithe is a dramatic city of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Felwithe/EQ000042.jpg" target="_blank">marble and stone</a>, totally unique in the lands of Faydwer. Much of its architecture is <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Felwithe/EQ001585.jpg" target="_blank">dazzling</a> to the eye, even though most <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Felwithe/felwithea-vendors.jpg" target="_blank">High Elves</a> work and reside in <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Felwithe/EQ001583.jpg" target="_blank">simpler dwellings</a>. Several major <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Felwithe/felwitheb-portals.jpg" target="_blank">schools of magic</a> are taught to <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Felwithe/EQ000041.jpg" target="_blank">the sorcerers</a> of Felwithe, while the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Felwithe/EQ001584.jpg" target="_blank">guards</a> of the city take good care of its <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Felwithe/felwitheb-supplies.jpg" target="_blank">citizens</a> and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Felwithe/merchant.jpg" target="_blank">merchants</a>. <b><u>Crushbone Keep</u></b> - Brutality and butchery are the chief <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Crushbone/crushbone-scenery.jpg" target="_blank">exports</a> of Emperor Crush’s fortress. Under his <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Crushbone/EQ000308.jpg" target="_blank">green banner</a>, the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Crushbone/orc_centurion.jpg" target="_blank">Orcs of Faydwer</a> have built a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Crushbone/EQ000307.jpg" target="_blank">strong home</a> complete with <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Crushbone/EQ000306.jpg" target="_blank">moat</a> and brick. Ever the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Crushbone/EQ000303.jpg" target="_blank">slavers</a>, the Orcs here have coerced specimens of the surrounding races into <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Crushbone/EQ000304.jpg" target="_blank">forced labor</a> within their <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Crushbone/EQ000301.jpg" target="_blank">mines</a>. Though the simplest of his minions reside in <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Crushbone/EQ000300.jpg" target="_blank">crude tents</a>, <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Crushbone/emperor_crush.jpg" target="_blank">Crush himself</a> lives within his <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Crushbone/EQ000309.jpg" target="_blank">colorful</a> keep, in chambers hidden behind his <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Crushbone/EQ000311.jpg" target="_blank">grim throne</a>. Recently, the Orcs have forged a secret alliance with the Teir’Dal in the hopes of destroying their mutual enemies; as such, the Dark Elves have dispatched <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Crushbone/ambassador_dvinn.jpg" target="_blank">an ambassador</a> to keep things on Faydwer running smoothly. <b><u>Butcherblock Mountains</u></b> - The <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Butcherblock%20Mountains/EQ000315.jpg" target="_blank">mountains of Butcherblock</a> are a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Butcherblock%20Mountains/EQ000362.jpg" target="_blank">heavily-wooded</a> range that comprises the Western-most portion of Faydwer. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Butcherblock%20Mountains/EQ000316.jpg" target="_blank">The Dwarves</a> live in these hills, making use of its many <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Butcherblock%20Mountains/scarab.jpg" target="_blank">natural resources</a>, and their capital of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Butcherblock%20Mountains/EQ000365.jpg" target="_blank">Kaladim</a> lies here underfoot. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Butcherblock%20Mountains/EQ000360.jpg" target="_blank">Aviaks</a> and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Butcherblock%20Mountains/emerald_drake.jpg" target="_blank">Drakes</a> can be found wandering through the mountainous passes while <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Butcherblock%20Mountains/an_aqua_goblin.jpg" target="_blank">Aqua Goblins</a> reside on the cliffs near the shore. A <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Butcherblock%20Mountains/EQ000366.jpg" target="_blank">heavily fortified</a> set of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Butcherblock%20Mountains/EQ000370.jpg" target="_blank">docks</a> have been built along the shores of the Ocean of Tears in order to facilitate trade between <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Butcherblock%20Mountains/EQ001511.jpg" target="_blank">Faydwer</a> and the bustling city of Freeport. Bizarre <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Butcherblock%20Mountains/EQ000363.jpg" target="_blank">engraved stones</a>, carved by unknown builders, can be found on the slopes of some of the mountains. <b><u>Kaladim</u></b> - Behind <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kaladim/EQ000037.jpg" target="_blank">stone gates</a> of and an enormous Dwarven statue lies the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kaladim/EQ000038.jpg" target="_blank">ancient</a> and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kaladim/EQ001357.jpg" target="_blank">astounding</a> city of the Kaladim. Some <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Dagnors%20Cauldron/EQ001570-1.jpg" target="_blank">bands of adventurers</a> occasionally pass near Dagnor’s Cauldron either in pursuit of the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Dagnors%20Cauldron/EQ000327.jpg" target="_blank">local Goblins</a> or in transit to <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Dagnors%20Cauldron/EQ000328.jpg" target="_blank">other places</a> of danger. <b><u>Estate of Unrest</u></b> - On the shores of Dagnor’s Cauldron, amidst the dry kelp and rotting fish, can be found the remains of a once elegant manor. As one <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000329.jpg" target="_blank">approaches</a> the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000334.jpg" target="_blank">front of the house</a> the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000330.jpg" target="_blank">rotting corpses</a> of lost travelers serve as a strong warning to any would-be explorers. Walking up the path to the front doors, passed the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000331.jpg" target="_blank">front fountains</a>, we find a pair of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000333.jpg" target="_blank">unkempt hedge mazes</a>. Yet <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000332.jpg" target="_blank">more corpses</a> can be found here, the remains of travelers who never found their way out of the maze. Surrounding the estate are a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000341.jpg" target="_blank">small stream</a> and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000335.jpg" target="_blank">gazebo</a>, both plagued by vengeful undead spirits. The inside of the home a grim feel to it, the dark haze lit only by <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000336.jpg" target="_blank">eternally melting candles</a>. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/barkeep.jpg" target="_blank">Zombies</a> and other <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000339.jpg" target="_blank">undead horrors</a> roam the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000340.jpg" target="_blank">halls</a> of the estate, feasting on any flesh they can find. Bizarre <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000338.jpg" target="_blank">werebats</a>, creatures unlike anything I’ve seen in Norrath, lurk in the darker parts of the estate. An <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ001571.jpg" target="_blank">enraged Dwarf</a> wielding a massive hammer is the greatest danger in these upper levels. In one of the side rooms, behind an <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000345.jpg" target="_blank">unsuspecting bookcase</a> standing amongst the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000337.jpg" target="_blank">tools of torture</a>, can be found a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000346.jpg" target="_blank">secret tunnel</a> that <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000347.jpg" target="_blank">leads</a> to the dark basement of this home of evil. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000348.jpg" target="_blank">Putrid skeletons</a> and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000349.jpg" target="_blank">festering hags</a> reside down here, performing unspeakable acts upon the bodies of slain adventurers. Beyond these dangers, and passed a shallow <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000350.jpg" target="_blank">pool of blood</a>, lies <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000351.jpg" target="_blank">the heart</a> of the estate’s unrest. Lurking between the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/terror.jpg" target="_blank">tentacled terrors</a> is <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000352.jpg" target="_blank">Garanel Rucksif</a>, an undead Dwarf of great power wearing a pair of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Estate%20of%20Unrest/EQ000353.jpg" target="_blank">old work boots</a>. <b><u>The Ocean of Tears</u></b> - Lying between Faydwer and Antonica is the legendary Ocean of Tears, a home to monsters and the shipwrecks they’ve caused. Passing through two massive <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Ocean%20of%20Tears/EQ000386.jpg" target="_blank">pillars of stone</a> inhabited by deadly Sirens we find an island with docks and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Ocean%20of%20Tears/EQ000389.jpg" target="_blank">simple inns</a> for beleaguered ocean travelers. Nearby is an island controlled by <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Ocean%20of%20Tears/EQ000388.jpg" target="_blank">colorful Aviaks</a> similar to those found in Timorous Deep. As we approach Antonica we find yet more islands, some inhabited by <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Ocean%20of%20Tears/EQ000375.jpg" target="_blank">Goblins</a> and others <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Ocean%20of%20Tears/EQ000382.jpg" target="_blank">inhabited</a> by butcherous <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Ocean%20of%20Tears/EQ000383.jpg" target="_blank">Seafury Cyclops</a>, feasting on the survivors of local shipwrecks. Yet more <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Ocean%20of%20Tears/EQ000384.jpg" target="_blank">obelisks</a>, identical to those in Antonica and the Lesser Faydark, can be <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Ocean%20of%20Tears/EQ000374.jpg" target="_blank">found</a> on some of the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Ocean%20of%20Tears/EQ000377.jpg" target="_blank">islands</a> here in the Ocean of Tears. On the island nearest the town of Freeport reside the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Ocean%20of%20Tears/EQ000371.jpg" target="_blank">Sisters of Erollisi</a>, a devout group of religious zealots with an irrational hatred for weary Iksar travelers. <b><span style="font-size: medium;"><u>Odus</u>:</span></b> <b><u>Introduction</u>:</b> Odus is the smallest of the known continents, inhabited principally by the Erudites and the Kobolds. Few adventurers find much reason to travel to Odus, other than learn magic from the Erudites or chat with an occasional Kerran mystic. The Erudites are foreign transplants to this land, having immigrated here some time ago from Qeynos. After driving the Kerrans off of the mainland the Erudites proceeded to engage in a civil war resulting in the creation of two factions and creating the enormous pit that leads to the underground area known as the Hole. The largest city on Odus is located on the Grand Plateau, high above the forest of Toxxulia. Due to the frail nature of the Erudites, and the relatively weakened state of their defenses, several of my peers in the Cabilisian Legion have suggested Odus to be a target ripe for conquest. I, as well as others, disagree with this assessment, not only because of the powerful magics wielded by the Erudites but also do to the simple logistics of travel between Odus and Kunark. <b><u>The Tour</u>:</b> <b><u>Paineel</u></b> - The city of the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Paineel/mage.jpg" target="_blank">Heretics</a>, as most call them, <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Paineel/EQ001580.jpg" target="_blank">Paineel</a> is a city of wickedness and evil magic. The casters here have mastered the powers of Necromancy and must be considered the greatest dark mages outside of our own Brood of Kotiz. Like the Dark Elves, the residents of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Paineel/EQ000427.jpg" target="_blank">Paineel</a> have resorted to the use of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Paineel/EQ000418.jpg" target="_blank">undead</a> for much of their <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Paineel/EQ000419.jpg" target="_blank">guard duties</a>, presumably because of their own weak physical state. Other undead, some rather <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Paineel/EQ001581.jpg" target="_blank">world-renowned</a>, are kept in various states of limbo in different parts of the city. The Heretics have constructed <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Paineel/EQ000045.jpg" target="_blank">menacing temples</a> for their services to Great Cazic and keep the rest of their architecture <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Paineel/EQ000422.jpg" target="_blank">solid</a> and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Paineel/EQ000420.jpg" target="_blank">utilitarian</a>. A <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Paineel/EQ000428.jpg" target="_blank">deep hole</a> can be found just on the outskirts of the town, leading to dark subterranean terror; the view on the way down <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Paineel/EQ000424.jpg" target="_blank">is</a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Paineel/EQ000425.jpg" target="_blank">quite</a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Paineel/EQ000426.jpg" target="_blank">chilling</a>. <b><u>The Hole</u></b> - The Hole is the remains of a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/The%20Hole/hole-arch.jpg" target="_blank">part of Paineel</a> that was constructed in an giant crater after the Erudites caused an enormous explosion in the hopes of destroying the Heretics. The ruins here have been taken over by extremely powerful Earthen<a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/The%20Hole/Elemental.jpg" target="_blank"> elementals</a>, possibly invading from the realm of Brell Serilis himself. These <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/The%20Hole/hole-guardian.jpg" target="_blank">Underfoot beings</a> are highly territorial over their new acquisition and kill all who may try and explore these <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/The%20Hole/hole-ramp.jpg" target="_blank">decrepit sections</a> of Paineel. The <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/The%20Hole/spirit.jpg" target="_blank">ghosts of Heretics</a> killed in the blast and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/The%20Hole/hole-bottom.jpg" target="_blank">invasion of the city</a> still haunt the area, floating amongst <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/The%20Hole/warrior.jpg" target="_blank">the elementals</a> in an apathetic languor.

<b><u>The Warrens</u></b> - The Warrens are a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/The%20Warrens/warrens-pit.jpg" target="_blank">hidden lair</a> of Kobolds built within <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/The%20Warrens/warrens-cavern.jpg" target="_blank">the caverns</a> on the Western side of the Stonebrunt Mountains. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/The%20Warrens/Warlord_Drrig.jpg" target="_blank">The Kobolds</a> here have a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/The%20Warrens/warrens-gragnar.jpg" target="_blank">structured hierarchy</a>, more like those in Mount Solusek than those in Innothule or Steamfont. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/The%20Warrens/a_giant_cave_bat.jpg" target="_blank">Giant bats</a> and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/The%20Warrens/warrens-muglwump.jpg" target="_blank">pond creatures</a> can be found in the depths of the Warrens preying on lost Kobolds and foreign explorers. <b><u>Stonebrunt Mountains</u></b> - <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Stonebrunt%20Mountains/stonebrunt-river.jpg" target="_blank">The mountains</a> separating the Barren Coast from Toxxulia Forest are, by a considerable margin, the most dangerous place on all of Odus' surface. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Stonebrunt%20Mountains/a_panda_cub.jpg" target="_blank">Giant bears</a>, wholly unique to the region, prowl the slopes of Stonebrunt in search of food. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Stonebrunt%20Mountains/snowbeast.jpg" target="_blank">Sabertooth tigers</a> stalk their prey as solitary predators feeding mostly on young <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Stonebrunt%20Mountains/stonebrunt-ghostback.jpg" target="_blank">gorillas</a> but occasionally snatching one of the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Stonebrunt%20Mountains/a20kejekan20mamluk.jpg" target="_blank">white Kerrans</a> who also <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Stonebrunt%20Mountains/stonebrunt-domesticated.jpg" target="_blank">inhabit</a> these hills. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Stonebrunt%20Mountains/stonebrunt-kobolds.jpg" target="_blank">Kobolds</a> control the areas nearest their burrows fiercely guarding the entrances to their warrens. <b><u>Toxxulia Forest</u></b> - The heart of Odus consists of large <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Toxxulia%20Forest/EQ000430.jpg" target="_blank">deciduous forest</a> disputed over by the two <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Toxxulia%20Forest/EQ000474.jpg" target="_blank">rival</a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Toxxulia%20Forest/EQ000429.jpg" target="_blank">factions</a> of Erudites. A massive set of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Toxxulia%20Forest/EQ000431.jpg" target="_blank">Combine Spires</a> stand silently over the treetops, a frequent form of travel for Wizards from both Erudin and Paineel. A large stream runs through Toxxulia Forest spanned only by a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Toxxulia%20Forest/EQ000432.jpg" target="_blank">massive white bridge</a>. Near Erudin large <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Toxxulia%20Forest/EQ000475.jpg" target="_blank">stone buildings</a> can be found spaced out among the trees. Across the ocean from <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Toxxulia%20Forest/EQ000433.jpg" target="_blank">the coast</a> to the West lies <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Toxxulia%20Forest/EQ000477.jpg" target="_blank">Kerra Island</a>, <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Toxxulia%20Forest/EQ000478.jpg" target="_blank">the home</a> to the displaced former-inhabitants of Odus. <b><u>Kerra Isle</u></b> - The new home of the Kerrans is heavily <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kerra%20Isle/EQ000434.jpg" target="_blank">guarded</a> by their warriors, ever in fear of a second Erudite invasion. The <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kerra%20Isle/EQ000480.jpg" target="_blank">Kerrans</a> are a spiritual and matriarchal people who live mostly in <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kerra%20Isle/EQ000479.jpg" target="_blank">wooden and thatch</a> homes, though the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kerra%20Isle/EQ000491.jpg" target="_blank">leadership</a> enjoys <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kerra%20Isle/EQ000483.jpg" target="_blank">greater luxury</a>. Rather than relying on armor or sophisticated weapons, the Kerrans have instead chosen to domesticate local <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kerra%20Isle/kerra-puma.jpg" target="_blank">pumas</a> and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kerra%20Isle/EQ000482.jpg" target="_blank">gorillas</a> for their protection. The climate on this isle is rather tropical compared to the mainland of Odus, perhaps due to warm currents flowing from the unknown ocean to the West. A <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kerra%20Isle/EQ000488.jpg" target="_blank">pit</a> of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kerra%20Isle/EQ000489.jpg" target="_blank">tigers</a> is kept on an even <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kerra%20Isle/EQ000487.jpg" target="_blank">smaller island</a> off the coast of the Kerran home; I can only guess as to its purpose. The Kerrans <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kerra%20Isle/EQ000485.jpg" target="_blank">love a drink</a> almost as much as a legionnaire and are known to frequently <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Kerra%20Isle/EQ000486.jpg" target="_blank">indulge themselves</a>. <b><u>Erudin</u></b> - Named after the man who led them across the sea from Qeynos, <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Erudin/EQ000466.jpg" target="_blank">Erudin</a> is a bastion of knowledge unrivalled in all of modern Norrath. The city of the Erudites has a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Erudin/EQ000472.jpg" target="_blank">tranquil</a> demeanor with its impressive <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Erudin/EQ000465.jpg" target="_blank">white and polished buildings</a>. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Erudin/EQ000469.jpg" target="_blank">Libraries</a> and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Erudin/EQ000468.jpg" target="_blank">temples</a> are everywhere to be found in Erudin allowing the residents here to learn and worship at their leisure and their convenience. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Erudin/EQ000471.jpg" target="_blank">Fountains</a> are common fixture around both <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Erudin/EQ000473.jpg" target="_blank">public</a> and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Erudin/EQ000470.jpg" target="_blank">private</a> buildings, providing the Erudites with peaceful places to contemplate. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Erudin/EQ000467.jpg" target="_blank">Teleportation platforms</a>, normally a luxury reserved only for schools of higher magic, are a common form of transportation, used by wizard and merchant alike. A large set of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Erudin/EQ000464.jpg" target="_blank">docks</a> is maintained on the Eastern side of town accommodating the large amount of traffic that flows between Erudin and Qeynos. <b><u>Erud’s Crossing</u></b> - The Erudites, in their vanity, chose to name the channel of water separating Odus from Antonica after their founder. This passage of water is short and void compared to the other seas of Norrath with only a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Eruds%20Crossing/EQ000460.jpg" target="_blank">single island</a> rising above the waves. This island is inhabited by a rogue tribe of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Eruds%20Crossing/EQ000462.jpg" target="_blank">Kerrans</a> residing in a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Eruds%20Crossing/EQ000461.jpg" target="_blank">simple fishing village</a>. A carved <a rel="nofollow" href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/troodon/Eruds%20Crossing/EQ000463.jpg" target="_blank">stone block</a> can be found on this island sitting beneath the palm trees.

Wonderful write up, thank you. I do have to ask though, how in the name of Tunare's Children did the Faye come to displace the Feir'Dal from their rightful place in the trees? Oh Kelethin, city of wonder and delight, how I longed to once again roam the trees of my ancestors. Alas, the annoying Faye emerged from their hovels in the Lesser Faydark and now roost and rut amongst the wondrous branches of my ancestral home.

Kelethin was nearly destroyed, and the Fae prevented that from happening.

<p>Though the forces of good technically won the Battle of Kelethin, nearly all of the wood elves who called the city home were killed. After the War, it would have been impossible for the very few remaining wood elves to sustain the needs and functions of a city by themselves. Not to mention, much of Kelethin was completely destroyed.</p><p>The Fae were responsible for rebuilding Kelethin, so in essence it is "their" city. Had they not moved in, Kelethin would probably not exist at all.</p>

IIRC, the Hole was the original location of Shar Vahl. Details are a bit sketchy, but during the Erudin Civil War, Shar Vahl was blasted to Luclin by Erudin magics (intentionally or unintentionally is unknown). The first Paineel was then built into the hole that was created and the Paineel-inhabitants started digging deeper and deeper, eventually breaking into the Underfoot and unleashing Brell's minions. They managed to seal the breach eventually, but were forced to abandon the city and created new Paineel on the edges of the Hole. Modern EQ has expanded Odus as well (though Kerra Isle is now officially part of the modern Tox forest zone). The Barren Coast has been added with pirates camps ready to waylay the unwary traveller. The Buried sea has been added, a dangerous sea to travel with many isles and pirates of many factions wandering the currents to take down any ships that are not ready. And under the sea the lost combine city of Katta Castrum, sunk by Prexus in anger because the Combine scientists (seaking to restore Tsaph's life) performed unspeakable experiments on the colony of Kedge that escaped Phini's curse. Faydwer is about to get some new content as well. Meldraith the Mad has been busy on the other side of the Steamfont mountains and is about to attack Ak'anon. Some details have been outlined on <a href="http://eqplayers.station.sony.com/news_article.vm?id=50540" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://eqplayers.station.sony.com/n...cle.vm?id=50540</a> and <a href="http://eqplayers.station.sony.com/news_article.vm?id=50551" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://eqplayers.station.sony.com/n...cle.vm?id=50551</a>

<p> Yes, the erudites of Paineel, in the desire to create some weapon, unleashed some great force that they did not truly understand which resulted in the Hole, and the event somehow caused the Vah Shir to end up on Luclin, while the Shissar fled from the "Green Mist" that freed the Iksar, going to the Grey of Luclin. </p>

Not just the Vah Shir (who were basically the Kerran nobility), but their entire city too. That's why when you visit Shar Vahl on Luclin, it's basically a city on top of a tall pillar surrounded by a natural empty 'moat'. The spell pulled the city and its bedrock up and put it in a big cavern which the cats eventually bridged to reach Hollowshade and Blightfire Moores.

Very nice. It's great to read up on the old world again. I love that you included screen shots. Oh the memories!

That's one of the things that makes these threads hard to make, since I am trying to use screenshots of pre-revamp zones with pre-revamp mobs. Such screenshots are hard to find!</p>
