Ouch! My head - Quest bug?

Im currently running a new toon thru all of the antonica content and have hit a brick wall with this quest.Im on the step that requires me to kill a snake to get a fresh egg but even tho I must have killed 50 or more snakes, I justcant seem to get an update.  I have petitioned the problem and am waiting to hear back but was wondering if anyoneelse had experienced this problem and if there is a work around for it?Tks Veg..
