just want to put out a big thanks to all yoos who are so clear when advertising your groups, guilds, sales, crafting shops opening, great deals, your current thoughts, bowel movements etc..Its so wonderful so see such clarity. Lets take a look at a fine, representative example: "Muppet setting up group, PST or send tell if interested in joining to AnotherMuppet if not on hee hee"Lets start by doing away with mentioning levels or where group will hunt - like anyone cares about that. What IS important is clear quality solutions regarding the best way to contact the player. I, for one, am sick of having to phone to join a group or email, fax, write a letter, sms, send smoke signals and if i send my momma out one more time to contact a group for me, shes gonna pull my jello rations.I also especially like the "if interested" tag. i often find myself wanting to join a group, but i am not interested. This stops me joining and there being all kinds of problems later!Viva clarity!

Generally, you should know what level they are looking for based on what level range the chat channel is. Was it said in 30-39? If so, they are probably looking for players in the 30s. If they used just regular OOC or shout... level appropriate fro the zone should be an indicator of what they are looking for."PST if interested" probably means not to reply in OOC or level chat if you are interested.... I don't think you being interested or not was meant to be the focus. I personally say that when I'm fighting things at the same time as broadcasting for more. I'm not going to notice more green text mixed with the rest of the chatter but I will notice the purple text accompanied by the distinctive sound that a tell makes.Well, they didn't say where, but that usually implies just a typical XP/Grind group in a zone yet to be determined. If I just want to grind, I'll broadcast without saying where... if some of the people joining need quests in a certain zone, I'm free to go there to hunt since I was planning anywhere specific anyway. Again, if it's OOC/Shout... it probably means that zone. It's certainly not the best LFM message I've seen, but it is hardly representative of what the majority of players are using anyway.

What is this thread even about?

I think this thread was on the lack of communications.I see it all the time on the PvP server.Blahblah has yelled "There are Qs over here come and kill them"Ok, now lets break THIS down. All I know is that somewhere in the zone there are Qs and they are over where you are, but I have no idea what level they are. Now, when *I* yell it's usualy something like/shout 4 level 20 Qs heading to griphon tower near Freeport. 2 Destroyers and 1 SlayerNow, I know some folks cannot type as fast but even a simple quick line makes sense. /shout Qs, 20, heading to Freep griph towerI think what the OP is stating is that if your looking for something, be specific. Nothing I hate more then sending a tell when they are looking for group in the 20-29 channel only to find out that they are looking for 28+ and are going to a zone I cannot even go to yet. If they had stated this before hand I would not have sent a tell.

Pffft, it is very clear what he is talking about and I couldn't agree more. Has nothing to do with "glass houses" and everything to do with common courtesy and using one's brain just once in awhile. I for one raid alot so rarely group especialy a PuG but when I am on an alt I never send a tell to someone advertising: /1 [60 - 69] : group lfm pst hmmm what is this group doing? who knows. If they don't have the common courtesy to state what they are looking for and what they are doing then I don't have the time or patients to reply.using the LFG/LFM feature alot more would cut down on some of the mindless dribble as well.

I have the same issues with some groups. I can NEVER get an answer to the question "What are we doing here?" Then the toon takes off without even telling the rest of the group. We start to follow only to find out that he's just burning off excess energy and has already started off in another direction. All without saying a word. We still don't know where we're going, what we're gonna accomplish and/or if our specific toon can even get to that area or dungeon. No clue as to which quest is being worked, if any. I wish that those peeps would realize that I have a life too and I have things which I want to get done. I can help for a bit and will even see the quest, if any, through to the end. But I'm not keen about someone (s) monopolizing my time for a whole day's playing without accomplishing anything.

doing away with levels is not a good thing. There are zones that anyone in the 60-69 group can join,, and there are zones where you need to be at least 65. me personally will say something like setting up HOF group pst if interested. There are people out there who need to do HOF,, and there are people like me when on my main would never step foot in there again. I know there have been times when someone will say, i would join but i hate that zone sorry... i mean why bother sending that tell,, hence the reason i say PST if interested. If you arent interested then don't talk to me LOL

There are plenty of places where a 10 level spread is NOT helpful...it's better to specify a range 46+ ...etc... someone that's 40 can't join a 49 group... all the OP is saying, at least what I'm interpretting it to be... When broadcasting for more peeps please be as specific as possible.... it's not that hard to do. and I agree.
