Has anyone tried this Duo lately?

I remember a while back the two shared too many spells and nothing stacked etc. for it to be looked into. I was interested in another Duo for me and my GF to play besides our Brigand and Defiler. I figured with the minimal amount of reading I have done, they both should be able to stay alive for most quest mobs ^^^ Heroics etc. But can the Warden tank long enough for the Furys DPS to put an end to the mobs?

If anyone plays this combo or someone who knows more about the classes or the AA builds that would compliment each other, I would love some advice.

Thanks.

Warden and Fury combo isn't a bad one. Between all of our roots, you wouldn't really need a tank except for the harder stuff. But for mostly solo mobs and some lower heroics it should be fine. Let the warden do most of the healing and rooting, and the fury can just DPS.

or make a melee warden and let it tank? rooting = waste of time ++Xan

But can the Warden tank long enough for the Furys DPS to put an end to the mobs?

A melee spec warden can deal comparable DPS to a Fury.

The other night in Cazic, I was the lowest leveled person in the group and in fights where I didn't have to spam heals, I was parsing a lot better than the Fury in the group (who was obviously trying to DPS). I was considerably better equipped and probably had a lot more AAs... but it surprised everyone in the group that a warden can actually deal pretty decent damage.

With fast casting heals and superfast casting CAs, a Warden can probably do better DPS than a Fury in a group as a main healer. It's a heck of a lot more effective to fire off a couple of CAs between heals than waiting on cast times for big nukes and AEs.

I know that this has been asked before but I looked at the AA lines and could not quite get the full picture of a Melee Warden. Is there a AA build that maximizes Melee ?

Do wardens get any taunts to speak of ? Just wondering how the aggro management would work if a Fury can out DPS the Warden how can the Warden keep aggro?

I assume that with the two healing would not be an issue as long as there is enough DPS to kill things fast. Mainly Even or Blue conned Heroic encounters to complete the good quests.

Thanks again.

The Wardens EOF tree has AAs that turn all our damage abilities (nukes/DOTs) into combat arts (melee attacks).

At the bottom of that tree, there is an AA that gives the Warden a 75% chance to crit on all melee attacks. This includes the AA combat arts. Another key skill in that tree is the one that gives a HUGE mitigation boost (50% max) to our wolf form

The Strength line in the Druid AA is an obvious choice for a melee Warden.

The first skill is a low damage attack that gives a decent 20 second duration haste buff.

The next skill down the tree gives a 5% chance (per rank) to double attack up to a max of 40%.

The next skill gives a 2% chance (per rank) on a successful attack to proc a group heal.

The final skill is an aveage damage, fast refresh melee attack that cant be parried, blocked or riposted.

There are no taunt or hate gain skills available to Druids. I imagine a Warden would have a hard time keeping aggro over a nuke-happy Fury... but if the Fury plays smartly and doesnt drop their big nukes right off the bat and waits for the Warden to spam all their melee attacks, it shouldn't be that much of an issue. And a Fury can take hits almost as well as a warden. Another option would be for the Fury to go down the Wisdom tree for the hate reduction AA skill.

As for taking down even/blue con heroics. Speaking from personal experience as a melee spec Warden, up to the mid 40s (at least), I'm able to solo even/blue conned named heroics. At level 43 I solod all but the last encounter for both the BBC and SBD Heritage quests... one of them was a named level 44 3up heroic.

A Warden/Fury duo should be able to take on that type of content with ease.

Thanks for the info Effie. I see what you mean by melee and it seems that Wardens can wear STR/Bruiser gear to help out. Wondering if I even need to dual box now : )

Does anyone know if the buffs stack well at higher levels ?

I made a pair and so far up to 12 they seem to do real well since you can chain HO's : )

Buffs stack ok, because they are different (between Warden and Fury). Sometimes the issue is similar heals (chloroplast vs. whatever the Fury one is (the leaf)). Also, I play Warring Thorns with some Furies in raids till I tell them to knock it off (unless I'm not in the MT group). Whomever put the thorns on last wins - quality doesn't seem to matter.

I think a Warden/Fury duo sounds like fun...and Skively has a 24 Warden Raid planned.

From personal experience, yes you can accomplish and beat a LOT of mobs tough ones too but it goes slow....

I play my warden occasionally in a duo with my hubby's fury, and also with a good friend's fury so have had experience in warden/fury duo with different players as well.

However, in my personal opinion it is definitely not the most efficient way to get around, not even taking the main buffs not stacking and the HOTs not stacking into account. The other day camping a named in Loping Plains with my Warden and a Fury, I got tired of the mobs dying so slowly and hopped on my Swash instead.... omg did we tear things up! You can definitely pick up the pace a lot more if you add a DPS class rather than another druid. For every day play I would advise against that duo, just because I prefer a faster pace when I play in a duo, if both you guys absolutely want to play a druid though, it is definitely doable.

Edit: Also keep in mind that in the high end zones a good combo of healers is usually requestsed and 2 druids will have problems being able to join the same group say for example for Castle Mistmoore. My hub and I are currently encountering that problem, thankfully we both have a DPS alt we can divert to.

IF the fury has animal form and energy vortex mobs should die really fast. Cast animal form on warden = stifle but +100 haste and + crushing/slashing. Energy vortexx increases fury spell damagefor the fury.

I'm fairly certain even his brave heart would run screaming from the thought of him and 23 druids. Unless you put a dirge in with him - then he'd be good.

I have a topped out Warden and Fury. When I'm out PVPing I normally take my Fury, mainly because we have another Warden who runs with us a lot. We normally don't have any conflict issues, since we agree beforehand who we're putting out single-target HoTs and thorns on. The rest of the stuff doesnt really conflict. Not like we really conflict anyway since when I'm on my Fury I'm normally running around nuking like crazy.

"What? You expect me to heal? That's the Warden's job!"
