Our guild normally uses a Paladin MT. We are going up against Treyloth D'Kulvith tonight and they have decided to give my Guardian a shot at him as we have been unable to defeat him to date. (I normally just tank the KOS farming runs)

We have most of the strat down... range fight, stand 10m away and cure trauma etc. The problem occurs when he mem blurs and turns on a mage... then AOEs the raid.

Does anyone have any tips for me... does he reflect CA's during his reflect period. Can I just wait 25ish sec into his reflect then drop reinforcement and string a few CA's together to keep aggro?

I would not mind putting on a good show for my first attempt J

I have read the information on that sight which is the stradergy we are trying.

I was just looking for confirmation here regarding the reflect period. If he reflects CAs and how people use reinforcement to prevent losing agro during mem blur.

Thanks

Think him dropping positions, not resetting them. Think who's usually getting aggro most during those "shifts". Think OT taunting a ton throughout the fight. Think Thought-Snap just to make sure.

One thing for the memblur is that you should wait for the kick before you get him down to 75,50 and 25%. This will give you about 15 seconds to gain aggro back before the next kick and searing rot.As for the memblur, plant is one way to handle it. Another is to have some higher DPS fighter to rescue it just before the memblur so it will turn back to the MT instead of someone in the main raid.

/glares at a brigand abiliti. /glares at people saving their Deaggro how about a jester before memwipe so you can rescue twice during the fight? i guessing it should be back up for the 25% memwipe if you are strugling against this mob your DPS should be low enought to enable you to rescue twice in the fight. instead of having the mob run to the raid why not ask the 3 people the highest on hate list to come to the tank so the mob wont move? why are you using a pally as a MT? either use a guard or zerker, the only pallies that MT are guildleaders.

edit :

i saw there is the exact same thread about this mob in the pally section. starting multiple thread about the same subject is.... meh

paladin mt is your problem, not b/c paladins suck, they are better than the 3 other fighter alternatives but, reason why is, you don't get any experience tanking your guilds current raid content, instead your stuck w/ previous expac trash mobs, which will teach you nothing.don't just "try you" for 1 encounter try being the mt for the whole week, get experience in those encounters, then you have a chance at success. Otherwise you'll just end up failing, which you probably will since you have zero experience on current raid content and how mobs react to your raid force, to you, and how healers should/can react to you.

True that.

Throwing you in at a raid mob that you cannot kill already is not wise as failure could be due to you not being used to your new role.

Being an MT is not a role you can pick up and put down instantly. You should be in the MT position for atleast a couple of zones to develop your abilities and get you used to the 'new' CAs (ones that you previously didn't need to cast once or even ever in a zone!) that you will need to use with precision and perfect timing.

tbh now I think about it this could harm your chances of being put up for tanking again if you fail but at the same time if you succeed you might get more time tanking epics which is what we all love to do!

Wish ya some good luck!

i heard guardians have this awesome ability called plant... it roots mobs in AoE range (even epic ones) and the tank.
