ok here goes exiles have a rough time living in that little cave sure most ppl dont want to be exiled they grind thier time to a new city and move on but i was wondering if maybe we could make the exiled a bigger bettter city for those wishing to remain exiled heres what i was thinking:

with all the money made in blackmarket trading and people smuggling the exiles could hire dwarves to make a new exiled underground city nothing fancy just a big rectangular city with the nek entrance at the east and the thundering steppes entrance at the west end of it you could have player housing in the middle on the north side of town and craftin in the middle on the south side of town the north east/west and south east/west parts of town would be for exiled guild factions (ill get into that more later) the entrances to haven could be relocated to nek-in the cliffs north of nek docks make a little tunnel into the hill with exile guards at the entrance stoppin non exiles getting in in thundering steppes-it would be in the cliffs south of the docks with guards also.

to make living there a little more like one of the big cities we can have guild halls (warrior/mage/priest/scout) located inside the warrior one would be called "mercinaries for hire" (with the great war over these soldiers have nowhere to go noone to kill they hire themselves out to the highest bidder uncaring to wich side hires them) the mages would be called "arcaic assension" (believing that the qeynos/freeport guild hall where holding them back from achieving ultimate power) the scouts would be called "hired hands" (believing that they where not being payed enough for thier services under the qeynos/freeport guild halls) the priests would be called "etheral enlightenment" (priests believing that the qeynos/freeport guild where with-holding information about the gods the ppl should be entitled to)

As such being exiled these guilds would not pay with faction/status they would pay with coin/status however after completing x amount of writs (i was thinking like 1000 or so) you would be given a (to be used only if exiled) prefix maybe somthing like

warrior guild - war hero

mage guild - Rune invoker

scout guild - Hitman

priest guild - The enlightened

for crafters there would be a guild (like iron toe exchange) called "blackmarket manafactures" who would give crafting writs

now as for the market broker selling as you live between all cities the commision for items sold would be 30% rather than 40% from foriegn people and still 20% for exiled people

ok last exiled city based idea in freeport/qeynos you see city leaders overpriced junk heaps littering the city (statues of your beloved leaders) for haven i was thinking one central statue (located in the center of town) depicting a man with shackles on his wrists with broken chains dangling from then and a plaque reading somthing like "in commeration of the first exiled for showing us that we as people can make our own destiny unguided by the so called gods"

well thats my ideas for a exiled revamp (dont let me know what you think here cause i dont read forums i just post my ideas once in a while)

 Pirate Rule King'of The Exiled

I didn't stop reading, cause I've seen worse - at least there is some structure.

That aside, I like those ideas. Don't know much about haven, but those things sound like interesting thoughts and make sense in a RP, growing, kind of way.

As I understand it, betraying your starting city was supposed to have consequences (admittedly a lot less than it used to have). One of those is being exiled and having to live in Haven with access to only the most basic of amenities, which makes sense since Haven is more of an outpost that an actual city. What you seem to be suggesting would eliminate most, if not all, of those negatives. Also, since your spells don't reset until you complete citizenship in your new home, you don't lose any of you Adepts or Masters either. So, what exactly is the penalty for betraying under this system? Might as well just make Haven a full city and a choice of home when you create a new character.

Exile was always intended as a temporary stopover. I can understand the PVP servers wanting more perks for exiles but there were meant to be penalties and not a livable city.

DONT READ THIS MISTER ENGLISH PERFECTIONIST

i failed school so sue me.

now having said that to the others who posted i dont play on a pvp server and i dont want to (multipule reasons not going to get into them) my idea is to turn haven into a city not a big one like qeynos freeport or even like kelethin or neriak but like a small country town max 3 room houses kinda thing a few sherrifs and what not

you wont be able to start there as it is EXILED you will have to quest your way there (as they have done with majdul)

my original idea was to adapt the village of shin for this purpose but shin has its own styling and also not everyone has the adventure pack and i feel this place should be accessable to all
