the recent test patch increased the damage of 2 handed weapons, which seems to me an indication of an intent to make them more appealing, more of an option? which i was really pleased to see

however currently in eof to my knowledge there is a total of 1 2handed blunt weapons at raid level, and this drops from a contested mob which the vast majority of players dont even get the oportunity to try let alone actually kill

add to this that for some odd reason SoD (and even claymore) rewards come in 2 handed slash but not 2 handed blunt options. we are left with a change that trys to make an option more appealing, when the option just doesnt exist?

can we have a SoD 2hander added with lu38? and maybe 1 or 2 2hb items added in raid zones?

my apologies to those that read the bruiser forum as i posted there also, but i felt this was going to get totally missed there, hoping here its got at least a snow balls chance in hell of being seen by a dev

Although there's also an Avatar-dropped staff, the only "decent" instanced one from Mayong in TTR has too low a delay and damage spread to do decent DPS.

although i mentioned claymore at one point, that was an aside, im concerned with EoF 2 handed blunt weapons, i hadnt realised there was one in TnT il check that out. i was refering to the avatar dropped weapon as the only current one in EoF

there are a couple of legendry ones (the one from unrest for example)

kuhrghan - please feel free to enlighten me about the 2 handed blunt (crush skill) weapons that are raid level (fabled) and from EoF, that im missing, honestly id be glad to be wrong, always felt brawlers look better with staffs

edit: has anyone got anything even slightly approaching a rationale for why there shouldnt be a 2 handed staff version of SoD and claymore, and why they wer left out?

Well, for the most part, the previous Major questline rewards have been mostly cookie cutter upgrades of the same stuff. Prismatic, Godking, Claymore & SoD have all been mostly consistent of a 1h sword, a DW Rapier, a 2h Sword/Halberd, 1h Rod, 1h Hammer, and a DW Brawler weapon. My guess is the reason for no Bo is the same reason why there's no Bow. They try to spread out the small variety of weapons to the most likely choices that many will pick from. A Bo would be cool, but how many Brawlers do you see that AREN'T DWing? Its the mindset of it all, 2hs shouldnt be the best, but shouldnt be that far behind either. EoF rule settings to the 1hs really put a large gap between 2hs and Buckler AA/DWing. Now 2hs can't come close, and from what I've heard, the DR boost on test is meager at best and much more is needed.

Don't get me wrong, I know where you're coming from. I've savored 2h DPS on my Berserker for over 2 years and have fought the idea of going DW for ages, but LU 38 will make me look like a fool if I don't switch. I was gonna go with the Soulfire Longsword when I get it this week, but when Soulfires finally came out, it took me weeks to find a link for it. No Screenshot, no info, just the same data on the other 5 choices over and over. The Reason? No one picked it on my server. Even in the WW Zerker channel, it took some time for someone to end my search. Almost picked it on my main (Brigand) just to see what it looked like. 2hs need more damage, some AA support, but they need help fast, or even I'm gonna let go.

I know its not likely what you wanted to hear, but its an unforgiving truth I'm still coming to terms with. The Star Forged Bo looks hawt, heck I'd use it simply for bragging rights IF my guild was capable of snagging it from the hardest Avatar yet. The TNT Mayong hammer looks simply awesome, and I'd bet that Double Attack on it adds a nice touch. However, anything a 2h can do, DW almost always trumps it in every way, and are sadly often even easier to get. In this case, if its a Double Attack combo you desire, why wait for the TNT Brawler Hammer when you can achieve it from using the soon to be duoable Soulfire Kama & Grim Brimstone Hammer? (Both attainable by defeating the easier Mayong, ironically)

Sad to see nice Bo staff animations go to waste.

i agree almost entirely with your post yettii, although id maintain if there was more choice you might see more brawlers going that way, i know back in KoS i used the flapping wing and stone striking staffs for a good while. i never got it but word is the vraksakin club beat almost all the dw for dps pre eof, especially with raid buffs.

your right about the weapon choices being the same through all the quest lines of that type, i just wish they would re think the blue print and give us some choices

well thought out reply thanks for responding
