Books that disappear when you complete quest

Recently in EOF, I have found two quests that, along the way, offer house items, books...One quest is FInding FUlgation in SF, the othr was in Lesser Fae (forgotten quest, but the book was Thexian Log book)/ THe books are part of the quest series, but not the reward. If you check them in your inventory, they are books, placable in your house. You can even left click on them and see what they will look like in your house. But, if you complete the quest, the items are removed from your inventory. Whoy go to the trouble of creating house items that go poof? My daughter, a book addict, petitioned a GM and was told this was working as intended.

That sounds like an oversight after the fairly recent change to remove quest items from your inventory when the quest is done. My bags are still full of old quest items that dont delete when the quest is finished. Case in point are the Somborn Weapon Crates from a quest in LP which stay in ur inventory after completion - among others. Always loathe to delete them in case you end up needing them.

Quest items specifically state which quest they are used for, remember? If it's not that quest, then you don't need it.

You can run and pop the item in your house before continung the quest, but how practical is that? Many people can't port up and down to LF easily. I did that with the Thexian Log book after being warned about it, but completely flaked on the SF one.
