Trying to come back to game but Launchpad is running at over 26 hrs for a couple months of updating?

how much information could possibly need to be sent and why on earth are they sending it so slowly? no its not my isp or my equipment ive got top of the line computer and internet connection.  the updating the files from the launchpad is running at over 26 hours to get the files and chapters i missed over the summer updated onto my machine.  i dont have anywhere's near 26 hours to download anything.  id love to come back to the game but if the launchpad wont cooperate im not seeing how that can happen.  is there a way to speed this process up?

Kill the application & restart it.  Maybe reboot the PC.

<p>Also its not long after a major downtime due to a rather large "oopsie" by SOE so servers may still be a little shaky. Also you dont have to do the full 26 hrs at once. You can leave it on overnight for a couple of nights and it will update as necessary.</p><p>When I reinstall I just leave it on downloading in the background and play some Oblivion or something.</p>

doing a fresh install using the installer took me close to 24h and when im downloading stuff from places like iTunes i hit at least 900kbps

There's an option on the launchpad where you can choose to download some of the parts later. Also I've found that it always starts off saying that it'll take many hours to download but that the estimated remaining time decreases a lot more quickly than the actual time elapsed, so for instance if it starts off saying 26 hours, it usually takes about 8.

thanks for the ideas fellas.  what a bummer i had the whole weekend off and was hoping to hop back into the grind but it looks like ill be spending the weekend downloading.  also a downer im on SWG too but i cant even play that while EQ2 downloads since apparently they share some launchpad programming so i can only apparently use one or the other. im guessing theres a sneaky way to fix that and run both together but im nowheres near computer savvy enough to tinker around in the code and folders of my SOE area in the hard drive.  guess its dvd watching fest during the mother of all downloads.

just got a new comp and putting EQ2 on it...patcher started saying 1 hour download..that was 24 hours ago.....now its saying three days....I do not have this problem with any other game.....SOE please fix it (yeah right)

<p>There are several factors that are involved as to why your download maybe so long.  One factor is your connection to the internet and how well your modem is working.  Another thing will be how fast your computer is and what else ya got runnin in the background. </p><p>So far the max it has taken me to download alot of updates was with SWG when I thought about returning.  I think it was 4-5 LU/GUs and it took me about 30min-2hrs to DL everything.  Only time I have had to go over 2hrs is when EoF was released and the SoE servers were gettin mobbed with requests.  Took me 5-6hrs to DL everything starting at 3:00 pm est going to near 10:00 pm est.  </p>
