Is it just me or do Rangers really stink for PvP at lower levels? I just made level 28 and my damage is just pathetic compared to other classes. I am not super geared or anything, using pretty much all MC which shouldn't be *that* bad but I am fighting people that are atleast 80% twinks. Even if I get the jump, snipe and get all of my CA's off, the recast timers on the CA's combined with the super slow seven second delay on ranged auto attack isn't enough to finish anyone off before I get beat down in two to three nukes or CA's from other classes. It seems almost all of my Ranger damage is front loaded, and yet not enough to get my opponents health low enough to finish them off. Nothing like getting beat by a Wizard two levels below you after their mana shield absorbs ALL of your front loaded damage. Then you sit there waiting for these rediculously long recast timers on CA's and you get beat down while plinking away with crap damage. And don't even get me started about how worthless stealth is in this game for PvP, that's a whole nother topic.

Well I agree with you! I tend to fight like a coward in T3. I know if I cant get them to red in the first 5 seconds im dead meat. Generally I just wait for them to engage someone else then I unload and help finish them off. Im hopeing the final ability in the Agility line will help but Im not sure. That being said, running at 64% is a blast but I know I have to pick my battles wisely or die. I allways hear of this overpowered Ranger class but I havent seen it at all. Im only a 24 and got one shoted last night by a 23 fury. Oh well the ranger is still fun and I can allways run from a battle , unless im rooted and killed in 2 seconds. LOL!

Ya all of these threads about how overpowered Rangers are must be about T7. I just aint seeing it in T3.

Lvl 35+ and things will start getting better, if you wanted to pvp in t3 you picked the wrong scout =( I've lvl'ed my ranger to 57 so far and just got a shiny new title and have no complaints in pvp for either solo or group play. Depending on the class its even possible to turn a fight around if I get jumped too, so there is light at the end of the tunnel guys, just gotta reach it.

I am in T4 now and it does appear to be getting better. More ranged CA's and not fighting as many super twinks as in lower levels makes a world of difference. Oh and having escape for when your out soloing and get steam rolled by a group is great. The problem is waiting fifeteen minutes after you zone for it to repop with no AA in that line.

Makes me want to unlock my combat xp so I can get to T4. Since im at 24 now its gonna be a while. Only need 3 more achievements to get the final ability in agility line. Im hoping the faster casting will enable me to get my limited ranged attacks off before they get to me. Had a 22 warlock absolutely smoke me last night three times. Finally took him out when I was able to get the drop on him and get my backshot off first. One thing for sure if any other scout or fighter gets within melee distance I might as well hang it up. Makes it a bear in dungeons. Still love running fast though.

Ya definitely get T4 as soon as possible. T3 and below from my experience Rangers are sub-par.

Hey Vega what level are you ? At what level did you see a big improvement . Considering most of the people I group with are mid twenties I really dont want to go to far ahead or it kind of blows my group pvp. My plans are to level to a point where I get one or two more ranged and then lock xp again and level through questing !

Thanks!

I can't remember for sure but I think at lvl 42 you get "Leg Shot" which is a ranged snare bow CA, with AA help you can get it down to about a 5 sec. recast on it. That helps a lot in PvP, unload your big hitters and use Leg Shot last so you have a smaller chance of breaking the snare. Usually slows them enough for you to increase your distance and get a few more CA's back up. Plus the slow poisons you can equip are nice as well.

Ya before lvl 42 our only ranged snare is flanking or behind only. Darman I am now level 32. Between say level 28 and 32 I could see a huge improvement. At level 32 I bet I could take out two or three of my level 27 counterparts in PvP. The Ranged CA upgrades and the better equipment in early T4 is key.
