$40 plus no free month to reactivate with EoF when you have the original game and 2 expansions? That's just stupid. They already fleeced me with the $90 collector's edition.

EoF includes the whole game package. But, if you already have all the expansions..ah, ah well. No one forced you to lay down $90 for a collector's edition. You weren't fleeced, it was your decision.

Yes, you could have simply done the digital download if all you needed was EOF, that would have been the cost effective way to go.

<p>But the digital download is $40, the same price as the retail game. There's no way to buy a standalone EoF, and no way to get EoF for less than $39.99.</p><p>And everyone who bought the game when it came out was fleeced, because it wasn't done and they knew it wasn't. Kind of like they did with Vanguard...</p>

<p>Why'd you buy it at release then? Many people (me included) were saying it wasn't ready completely ready at release.</p><p>Edit to add: I suppose I should point out, since no one else has, that you don't need Faydwer to play the game. Actually, it's still quite easy to get 1-70 without Faydwer.</p>

Also consitering it COST SoE twice as much to create EoF as it cost them to create KoS and DoF and they are only charging 10$ more for it, EoF is accually a BETTER value then KoS and DoF where. Like others have said if you already have KoS you don't Need EoF to get to 70 and consitering KoS has AAs you won't lose out on those until you hit 50 AAs. Lastly, if you wait until Nov to get RoK you will get EoF for free, so you could wait until then and then Fleece SoE instead.
<p>That's like saying, "I <b>hate</b> it when they make faster CPU's and better video cards <i>every</i> year! All this upgrading is making me broke!" <img src="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/images/smilies/2786c5c8e1a8be796fb2f726cca5a0fe.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" /></p>

A. No one forced you to pay for the Collector's Edition.B. When you purchase EoF you get the previous two expansions included in that price! That's going to give you MANY more hours of gameplay virtually for free.C. The game was not as you say "not finished" at release. Sure they did gameplay tweaks and such but what game hasn't? WoW has, DAoC has, EQ1 has, CoH and CoV have, SWG has, VSoH has, Lineage has, Roma Victor has, AC has, do I really need to list them all? Yes, ok... UO has, Rubies of Eventide has, DDO has, LotRO is in process of doing, ok I'm really not going to list them all, but you get the point....ALL MMOs have had tweaking done on them after release. They're virtual worlds that are dynamic (constantly changing).Just thought I'd point this out.Peace <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />" width="15" height="15" />

Vanguard took the concept of shipping an unfinished product beyond levels we haven't seen since the days of Horizons.

Two entirely separate companies, and so ... pick other example than Vanguard if it's about SoE.</p>

If you felt fleeced over the collectors edition then i welcome you to SOE games. If how ever your not new to SOE games i have no sympathy for your Fleecing, I learned the first time I bought a collectors edition, that, that was also my last time. How ever the free 30 days is only for new players if you choose to reroll a new toon then you get your 30 days. /shrug

Why would they want people to come back to the game? I mean, that'd cause increased income and nobody wants that!
Had preordered Vanguard. I play the beta the night before, wake up the next morning pumped. Boot it up, play 20 minutes say, heyyyyyy, is this live, or is this stil beta, because everything is still broken. True story.
<p>what do you expect? If you want a free 30 days then you create a new account with your new game pack...</p><p>They are not gonna give you a free 30 days just for getting an expansion.. and paying $40 dollars for expansion is normal.. they give you a whole new code though so you can create a new account if you want with all expansion for only 40.</p><p>If you want something free then you should have quit EQ2 AND Vanguard.. cause they gave all those people every expansion and adventure pack for eq2 FREE.. and like 3 months subscription for FREE.. lol</p>

What you are talking about is buying an expansion for $40. Everyone who has been playing over the past few years has also had to buy the same expansion, the fact is it has to be paid for some way. If we don't pay for it, there will be no more expansions. The older expansions have been "paid for" when people bought them after launch, the upcoming expansion will be paid for by those who buy it and those who join after it is released. You don't have to buy EoF to reactivate you account, just pay the monthly fee. But if you want the EoF content, then you need to pay for it, or wait for the new expansion where you can get it for free (but have to Pay for Kunark).

hmm I can understand you being a little upset but EOF was an amazing expansion, introduced a new starter city and new race and a ton of new content. Best 40 bucks I have spent on this game in a very long time, no EOF and I would have already probably gone on to another game for the duration. Keep in mind no one is forcing you to buy these you can still be happily playing the first version of the game that came out, and simply leveling up your nth alt to 50th... It's entirely up to you. Not to mention they gave you for free Neriak and DLW's.

That they would recode the game from scratch the night before the release?</p>
