View Full Version : US server fix = EU servers unavailable. Why?

While I applaud your fast response in taking down the US servers to fix the issues that are plaguing them, why why why is it necessary to take down the login servers as well preventing those of us who play on EU servers from getting into game during prime playing hours?  This is not the first time this has been done.  Right now Splitpaw is up and those who didn't make the mistake of switching characters are happily playing away.  People like me who did are stuck, unable to use a perfectly good server until a problem that doesn't affect us in the slightest has been fixed which could take hours.

When are you going to realise, main revenue from the USA, European servers are low priority. Sure so the patches take longer to be applied to Euro servers, but just becuase the bad patch has not yet been applied, does not mean that the European servers are allowed to work when USA servers are down

first off why did they not test this update before uploading to the servers.   This is now the second time in a little over a month that they have messed up so bad that they had to leave servers down for more than a hour.  Lets just pray that it is not another 12 fix to fix the problem again  *crosses fingers.  Mind you i say this after a 3+ hour downtime already.

compared to other games i guess its a good solution from SOE to put the login servers offline. I dont want to see what happens when thousands of US players start a new toon on the EU Servers because theirs are offline. So could at last those that are online on the EU Servers enjoy the game, otherwise i guess no one could

The only reason all games were down for 12 hours earlier this month was because of an update to the station... not necessarily the EQ2 part of it... but for every game.Login servers =/= messed up quests.

EU servers are unavailable at prime time for no given reason. And there is probably no rational reason. Otherwise we would have been given one.Blizzard is handling these kind of things much more proffesional. And, of course, then they have more players.

They always mess up EU servers during EU primetime.Nothing new here...Just as the fact that the game is all but impossible to find in stores in Europe.Or that the offical SoE PR hasnt got a clue there is an actual EU english speaking server...So sad <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

This is the third Friday in the last 6 weeks is it that the EU servers/launch pads have been down on a Friday evening, which must I am assuming be the single busiest time of the week.  SoE really dont have a clue when it comes to customer service.  if it helps you, seeing as you cant work it out, stop patching/updating/hotfixing the game thurs night into friday and do it on a monday so your constant [I cannot control my vocabulary] ups dont affect the game at its busiest time.  Presumably its too difficult to release these without the [I cannot control my vocabulary] ups so you may as well move them to the quiet times and not affecting the busy nights.
