Ok, I have a thread going in the zerker forums, but I think I want opinions from each specific group Im considering for a leveling partner.

**This thread will be posted in the Mystic, Fury, Inquisitor, Warden, and Dirge forums**

Key considerations:

-My Zerker is currently only 15, but I'm looking for a long term benefit. Just because 1 class will be excellent arond my current level doesnt mean it will be as effective when I hit 50, or 60, or higher.

-90% of my attention will be focused on the Zerker in most cases. A macro to /follow [Zerker], /assist [Zerker] and /target [Zerker] will be necessary, along with a couple heals/HoT's/Wards/etc. If the best duo with a zerker requires more effort than blindly pressing the 1-5 buttons ([Macro] [Macro] [Heal] [Heal] [Damage]), then its no good for me.

-Buffs are as important as heals. At this point at least, my zerker can chain whites and hardly have to rest. This may change as I progress, but I have never had a character past lvl 27, and that was 3 years ago.

Ty for your time and your suggestions.

I struggle doing the heroic opps with 2 chars, 3 would melt my brain Besides the fact that EQ2 would melt my crap 3rd comp

Is it safe to assume that you would pick the Fury as a leveling partner if you only 2 boxed?

I started out single boxing... moved to 2 boxing with the fury when my nephew quit... the built the troubadour. The fury is completely awesome.... you will last longer with a warden because you will be able to afford going defensive (they have a +slashing buff that is more than your defensive takes you down) however alot of the time that will do you no good... so what you do is tank in offensive... and have agitate which is some STR and AGI and a proc to boost you 60 DPS and 60 haste.... In other words the fury is better than a pocket bard when you are in a duo for a DPS boost.... you will have the 60/60 boost up MOST of the time and a troubadour with AA boosted M1 haste I think is 46 or 48... I forget... and 0 DPS. The STR on agitate is lower than bards +STR but not by all that much... and while the bard will have better debuffs the fury will do alot more healing lol. The fury will also do more DPS on weak stuff that doesn't require many heals... and the stuff that does require too much heals to be able to nuke... would have killed you with a non-healer like a bard.My brothers sometimes still steal my fury.... and my zerker... they can pick from guardian, assassin, warden, mystic, warlock, and swashbuckler between the 2 of them... all 70 and all 100 AA like my toons... but when it comes to 2 boxing... my combo is the most solid. Granted my zerker is the only fabled tank... and my fury has seen more raid action than the warden so there is better loot there also... but it's not as much the gear as it is the class. Also as a zerker fury you get teleports and group invis.... only the warden has teleports as a healer besides fury and no one else has group invis.... you also have spirit of the cheetah (burst runspeed) making you highly mobile. If you put AA's in the right spots you can bypass the need to buy a horse for the fury.I find the only disadvantage of the fury is that I am very tempted to nuke when I should be healing lol... you don't have those probs on the other healers. If you did move towards 3 boxing... troub is not the best choice... I did it because the guilded needed a backup troub and back during release I was Claire Mouse on a different server... a respected troub. I would personally go for Illusionist as my 3rd because the fury would be handing the illus like 170 INT and the illusionist would be hnding back large amounts of haste and double attack tp the zerker... to use the illusionist you don't need to be in melee range... but with the troub you do... so usually his DPS is non existant because I don't have that kind of time.... the illusionist I could occasionaly smash a larger nuke or 2. Although I suppose I could go auto ranged attack on the troub and he does have 1 decent ranged nuke (2nd nuke is kinda shorter range) Usually I use the troub just as a buffer/debuffer on /follow.... Jester's cap for the win though... I get to open wounds on like every pull if I am on the ball.

I 3 box a number of combo's. Melee account has 70 zerker/monk, healer account has 70 warden, mystic, inquis and now a 27 fury. Support account has a 70 conj and now a 27 illy.First, a druid is not the best healer for 2boxing with a plate tank. Wards/reactives work out much better, and the inquis is a great buffer/debuffer and melee dps if wanted. Druids dont have plate tank type buffs of any note. The ports and warden evac are quite nice tho. I am currently 3 boxing the illy, fury and mentored monk. They all three really compliment each other, spell haste with monk, power with illy, dps/vim with fury. I can't wait to 3 box the Claymore with those three. ( a mentored melee should be illegal )So, having a few of the healers to try out with the zerker, I really would suggest the inquisitor as your healing partner. Those 2 can easily do what 3 of most any other classes can.

I have a 70 Mystic, I just started a fury, lev 25 now. I grped with a zerker for the first year playing this game using my mystic and we very rarely had any problems. My fury is grped all the time with a Brusier and we have no problems yet. "cross fingers". I haven't try grping with zerker and fury yet.

pootski wrote:
Druids dont have plate tank type buffs of any note.
Wha?Ok... you are on... 1.) name one buff a fury has that is better for a monk than a zerker.2.) Tell me why a regen heals less on a plate tank if you are nuking every time a plate tank is at 90% or higher.... which if you aren't... you need to rethink your style. if a tank is low on HP a regen ticks... and if it ticks it's the same value regardless of avoidence or class name.3.) He will be playing the fury with an existing zerker... changing the zerker to monk wasn't presented as an option.... but using an Inquisitor is possible according to how he phrased it.4.) Name one buff that is better in a tank-healer DUO... not for the whole group... but just a Duo... than Agitate.... with it's STR/AGI and Haste/DPS in flat out ridiculous amounts... with no Conc slot requirement.5.) our lvl 35 mana regen spell also has AGI... and for a boxer who has a tank having that AGI and on the toon that is going to be mashing the most CA's is nice... usually your secondary toon has very few issues with mana.6.) name 1 healer that can out DPS a fury from range (2-boxers don't typically manuever the 2nd toon into melee range)If you can complete those questions... I will take it seriously and quit suggesting the fury/zerker combo... but from personal experience... it rocks.

I long gave up 2 & 3 boxing with EQ1. However, my main is a Fury & my husband plays a Berserker. We have lots of duo's, but this combo has always been our favorite. I soon discovered that I had ample power... much more than I needed, so I opted for more dps... a melee Fury if you will. Crazy, yes... but I do things like that to keep the game interesting.

Since we've been 70, it's the only time that I've noticed healing being an issue with certain mobs & zones. Mind you, we are not raiders... so we tend to be lacking some of the higher-end gear.

Overall, I highly recommend a Fury/Berserker combo.
