<p>Maybe, just maybe, if Sony would drop PVP and focus on what is 90% of the player base we wouldn't have issues like this.</p><p>This downtime is because they 'hot-fixed' in a PVP patch and f***ed it up.  So <b>once again</b> I'm screwed because some ***clown has to get his rocks off ganking 'noobs' on a PVP so he can run around screaming how he 'pwned' them.</p><p>If WOW wasn't full of the exact same mentality of people I would be so out of this garbage.</p><p>I'm sure someone at Sony will take an issue with this post, but frankly I don't give a **** anymore.  This is BS and they know it.</p>

Its the same no matter what - SOE could improve its rating with us so easily. All it would take is a posted update - how hard is that?

<p>Now that my rant is out of the way:</p><p>Here's the most 'official' word I can find on the issue:</p><p> "US servers needed to be brought down for emergency maintenance.  We do not have an ETA at this time."</p><p>Unofficially, they royally ****ed things up and this is going to take a while to fix (my guess is they are going to have to restore the databases from backups, and roll back the code base to the last successful patch and rebuild everything and reissue a patch).</p>

I liked how when you logged in on EQ1 after a patch an outline of the patch notes loaded right there for you to read before entering the game.
