Which Armour for Fluff Slots?

<p>I just picked up in one of the other forums about the new "Appearance" slots that are on the test servers and are coming in soon.  I immediately thought that I need to get me a new set of cobalt armour seeing as I sold my last lot when I outgrew it.  The all cobalt look has been far and away my favourite SK look in the game, but which armour pieces are you all going to go for?</p><p>For those that have not seen it yet, when you hit Lvl 20 you will get an extra tab on your inventory screen that has 7 armour slots.  Whatever armour piece you put in those slots will overwrite the look of whatever it is you are actually wearing, with empty slots retaining the look of your normal armour.  There is a limitation in that the item you put in there must be wearable by yourself and not be a lighter armour type than you are actually wearing in the proper slot.</p>

<p>I've decided to go with the Freeport Militia Plate (the 30K faction one).  Its got both the darkness I like, and the decay I like.  I found the Cobalt to be too... generic I guess.</p><p>It also shares a graphic with one of the lower tier devout sets, though that crafted set only has 4 of the 7 pieces.  </p>

I'll go with eighter my AQ or the Crushbone Ceremonial Armor dropped in crushbone. I already wear the Black Velvet cloth set when I am not fighting, so probably that one. Looks really good.EDIT: Oh wait, can't be lighter type? *sigh* I don't know then. Maybe some simple black Ebon Plate.

tell ya what looks really cool is the gear you get for doing T6 Raid writs, it works like relic but not exactly. It looks like the plate solders in SoS.  black and grey horizontal striped plat mail with a nice shine.... hawt

<p>It's so nice to see faction armor FINALLY have some use after 2 years of totally useless function that 99% of players haven't bothered to buy them. Now I can go to faction merchants to enjoy the nice armor look change. I HATE EOF legendary SK armor look! IT's so bad..</p><p>Also, class helms will finally have its use once again for looks!</p><p>NICE move by SOE..</p>

<p>Bear in mind this is a discussion in what armor we want to wear for looks, NOT the viability of the armor we wear underneath.</p><p>That being said, I'm gonna be going cobalt vanguard for my SK's appearance.  So far, unless pigs start to fly and I manage to get a full set of the EoF fabled, this is the best looking option I can get my hands on since it goes so well with his skin-tones.</p>

<p>Ah, the pink/purple debate.  The scaleguard stuff actually looks purple in game, not pink.  To me, anyway.  The helm I am wearing in the pics is the relic which usually shows up lighter, but in these pics it does look purpleish.  They're not retouched or anything...I don't care that much.  </p><p> EDIT - and in the last pic, the lighting is brighter.  It's purple.  </p>

I found the stuff to wear, but unfortunately do not have a screenie yet to put up. I opted for the head-to-toe Sootfoot Forged plate items. There is a complete set of armour and they only cost a few GP per item on the brokers. Check it out, it looks mean and very SK-like. ps I tried out the guild merchant shiny plate armour, but my GF forced me to sell it as it looked g.a.y Maybe that is something that the Pallies may want to consider using <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<p>Yeah - the parade and luminous vanguard from city merchants is perfect for pallies.  You can put a ~black set together using some mismatched pieces too I found out by playing on the broker.  Murkwater curaiss, Fyr'un feet and arms and something for the legs which I forgot, but matches with it.  Also not a bad look.</p><p>If you're a fancy boy (like Dorlant <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ) the Quellithulian plate is also nice - black and gold.  Go Army!</p>

Shot of my 51 SK in her newly matching armor. Didn't like any of the status stuff (except for the gear sold by the Freeport Militia, but I don't have enough faction with them for that) but I think the cobalt blue and grungy rust goes well.<img src="http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a126/Arklier/Other%20stuff/Olemari.jpg" alt="" border="0" />And yes, my SK is a froglok.

I'm lvl 40 right now, wearing the DFC stuff which is waaay to shiny and busy for my taste. I pulled out my lvl 20 AQ stuff for appearance slots. Thing I'm going to hate giving up most is my D'Morte Insignia Band, which I've worn way past it's usefulness...because it's got a cool red lightsource. Lvl 20 AQ black armor + red glow = cool SK. At least for a non-raiding solo SK who can't get 'phat lewtz' <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Anyone know a low 40's bit of gear that would have that kind of light effect?<div></div><div>Also, I just want to state how much I hate tower shields.
