Just to point that out as Customer Support seems not to read the text in the tickets really.There seems to be a problem with the EU download via launchpad when EQ2 is installed via digital download (trial at least).There a lot of threads in the trial forums (and even some here) where different things do not work that all relay on files in the packs folder that get corrupted:- Main problem for EU trial is that the exe doesnt start in WinXP, and Vista reports a DEP Error, even when DEP is turned off (a lot of threads for final version too about this)- Not sure if this is in full version happening too, at least 3 people had it the last days in the trial (see trial forum) that they doenloaded the Fae trial (and could only create a fae or arasi) but they couldnt see the characters in charselection screen, faes & arasi where not seeable ingame, some mobs and a lot of NPCs where not seeable.- Some threads about geometrics missing here could relay on the same problemBy luck i found then during my trial out that it works installing the US version, but i copied the not working EQ2 directory away before. I then did a filecompare with a software comparing byte by byte and the checksums, and on several files those where different. I then uploaded those from the US version and all others that had the problem with the EU Version could resolve their problems by overwriting with the files from the US Version.Customer Support ment it relays on firewalls not accepting incoming connections or at using an antivirus. I first thought it could be as i removed my firewall between those 2 downloads, but now i retryed to reproduce it without the firewall and the same thing happens again.Also somehow even a fullscan via launchpad, when the US files are copied to the EU Version, it does not replace the files again. Strangely if the files are leaved corrupted in the EU Version, launchpad redownloads them every time (so it seems the launchpad knows that they are corrupt so it downloads again but gets the corrupt ones again)So someone at SOE shoulda really check those files on the server or whatever it is, isnt the perfect way to switch to US Version to get it running <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
