Heya one and all, sorry if this is the wrong part of the forum to post this in.Can anyone reccomend a fairly cheap but decent agp graphics card for me to upgrade to?Currently Im running a P4 3.8ghz chip with 2ghz ram and a 128mb radeon 9800xt (with XP sp2 etc) but I'm fed up of playing on "performance" system options and want something that I can crank a little and still maintain a reasonable frame rate.Any suggestions gratefully received <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Try this comparison:<div></div><div><span style="font-family: Lucida Grande;" class="Apple-style-span"><a href="http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/08/06/the_best_gaming_video_cards_for_the_money/page7.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/08...oney/page7.html</a></span></div><div><span style="font-family: Lucida Grande;" class="Apple-style-span"></span></div><div><span style="font-family: Lucida Grande;" class="Apple-style-span">It's a nice comparison of GPUs between brands and between levels within brands.</span></div><div><span style="font-family: Lucida Grande;" class="Apple-style-span"></span></div><div><span style="font-family: Lucida Grande;" class="Apple-style-span">Thanks.</span></div>

By the way, I have an X1650 PRO with 512MB on AGP and it works quite well on my AMB 2600+ PC.<div></div><div>I have heard that X1950 PRO based cards are pretty good and should be less than $200 now.</div>

You can get the 256meg version for as cheap as about $125, but I went with the 512MB version. This is $179.99 through Newegg.com and if you buy today or tomorrow you can get a $30 rebate on it:<a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161061" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16814161061</a>

you should try and get a card with direct x 10 just so you have it. I have a feeling they're going to try and make programs only for dx10 to try and push that vista crap even further. Plus selling more dx 10 cards is a plus for the graphics card industry. Though Im not sure if they make dx 10 in agp slots
