Problem with character selection screen (turns up all black)

Greetings. I recently tried the trial to EQ2, and everything worked perfectly. When I got my retail box of EoF, I decided to uninstall the EQ2 I had on my machine so I could make a "clean install". Anyway, I got it installed on my computer, with all the expansions and files patched and such. Everything seemed fine, but the character selection screen comes up like this: <img src="http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78/kmallika/EQ2_000000.jpg" border="0" alt="" />I can still select a character and can appear to play it without trouble. It's just that the character selection screen is a black blankness. I don't know what to do about it -- I never had problems when I was playing the trial -- so if anyone has any suggestions or advice I would be very grateful. Thanks.(I am using Windows XP.)

Ah, I found a solution. I changed the language to English (US) and it downloaded a few more files. After it was done, I restarted the launcher and changed it back to English (EU) and all was well! I can now see the characters and background on the character selection screen.

<p>Exact same problem; though switching server didn't help.</p><p>Games is running fine, only the character screen is black (see the pic)</p><p>Any idea what .vpk files are involved (or launchers'<img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> so I could try to replace the corrupted files?</p>
