I am new to the whole PvP thing - having played pve for almost 3 years and deciding to join a bunch of friends and heading over to Venekor.

Being new to PvP and faily new to the swashie class I am in need of good information and guidence on how to best survive and also put the hurt on freepers. I am have decided to go str for one KoS line but I am not sure about the second line. Does anyone know if "walk the plank" works on other players? If it doesn't that will most likely set me to going down sta line.

Any other equipment or quest or other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not to start the "this server vs that server" argument, I just want to make sure that before you start characters you read up on Nagafen and Venekor both. On the Swashbuckler thing, Walk the Plank is great, and the end-line, Sailwind, is great for reducing reuse timers. Having said that, however, the biggest thing I miss when playing an alt (besides the comfort of tracking) is the Reach line. You get used to having that extra range very quickly. Don't skimp on poisons. Ever. It'll save your life. Same with heal/freedom/buff potions. PvP is very consumable heavy, so you'll need to keep that in mind. Also, I assume that you've read about how "Mastercrafted gear all the way is a bare minimum before stepping outside". It's no joke; the gank squads will be on you like sharks on a bleeding diver. I'd strongly suggest visiting the PvP section of the forums and checking out the stickied info at the top. Some very useful information up there, whether you plan on twink-locking or not.

Oh, yeah, another thing ... money is very different on PvP. Costs for some things are insane, to put it mildly. T2 will run you more than T6.
