I am new to EQ2 from EQ and have had nothing but problems trying to use the EQ2 Players site. It almost never loads and I get timeout errors. Its not my PC, network, etc....its definately the Sony site thats to blame. Is this usual?

I am enjoying the game, but I will never pay for the EQ2 Players site if they can't provide decent service!!

/flame on

Hey Sony....how about you take the millions you make on paying customers and buy some decent hardware and/or fix the site coding problems!

/flame off

The only time I've ever had a problem with it was when the forum server was down. Coyote hit the nail on the head, methinks.

It's possible to have a virus/malware/whatever or a crappy DNS server. Loading fine for me though.

First post makes no mention of multiple machines, for what it's worth, hence the assumption.

My next question would be what browser are you using at both ends?I use the site all the time and the last time I had a problem with player site was like over a month ago. I kept getting logged out where ever I clicked.I just deleted my temp files and cookies and it worked fine after that.

Minus that I don't have the item database access so I cannot verify that wonky thing on the values though. Does it happen consistantly?

Thanks for the input everyone.

This was really not intended as a flame, but I have been fighting with the site from the beginning and frustration took over. Specially as a new player that is intent on gathering information to help guide my progression. =(

I was really interested in seeing if other people's experience was similar to mine. Seems that I am in a minority. All I can do is monitor the situation and hope it gets better.

Close, your calculation is off a bit. insteast of 99.999999812909260991580916744621 it should be 99.999999812909260991580916744623. You forgot the factor in the idiot factor. All right, all you who feel the need to bash the OP on this thread, take the time to examine the site's recent history before going nuts on him. The EQ2Players website has been seeing slowdown on loading issues, blank screens, timeouts, and more since its re-inception last Nov. Some of these noticed issues have been in the last couple months. So it may still be a problem with his hardware/software, but it may also be an issue on the EQ2Players end. There are still problems on the site. Just take a look at the main bug thread and all the other threads in here.Snipe, post more detailed info about the browser you are using on both comps and details of errors received if you are going to post. If the problem continues you may wish to consider sending a pm to Gninja. There are some pages that load slowly, such as guild pages for large guilds and some leaderboards, but overall I am not seeing your problems. You may have caught the site during a time that they were updating, in which case everything can respond poorly. I would wait a day, clear my cookies and temp files like was suggested and then try again. If the problem persists, then think about following up.There are problems on this site that not everyone has seen because of everything from system specs to locations (ie guild chat). It is because a minority of people take the time to post about them that these problems can be fixed for the others seeing the same errors. While the first post was fairly useless, the flaming should have stopped when the posts turned constructive.

I, to this day, have had absolutely no problems with the site. The only bad thing was that the forums were odd while they were switching to the new server or w/e. Otherwise everything has worked awesome for me. Sure it's not you?

Here. I've got some proofs what about the author is saying. Mind that this all I've got from work computer (IE 7, XP Pro SP 2) and from home computer (IE 7, Vista Ultimate). And I don't mention what the crap the site shows in FireFox...I don't have troubles with other sites except this one.Really, I though that this was some temporary thing. But it seems no one testing this site at all. I don't mind it's slow as hell but at least it should work. I think I saw those "$class.name" almost half a year ago from now on.

Good info, FuriCuri. And you seem to be right. The only people testing this site are the players using it. It's been that way for some time now, or at least it seems that way. I hope someone takes a look at this soon for you guys.

Ok, I think I found a workaround for all of this. For all who tired to get empty page instead of news page (http://eq2players.station.sony.com/index.vm) try to visit this link just once: http://eq2players.station.sony.com/...vm?locale=en_US After that whole site seems to work fine. As I guess there are some bugs when user visits site and have locale set to smth that non-supported by SOE website. After visiting link with locale passed as GET parameter website set cookie (name "locale") with en_US value and that way until you have this cookie. As I see it now the cookie will expire about 2 weeks after you visit that link. So if the side will screw up again - just visit that link. Hope SOE gets some more competent (if any) testers for their website.
