I've pretty much given up hope that the mess of the EoF fabled sets will be fixed. In fact they're apparently balanced as intended. But I'd really like to make the following requests for RoK, in the incredibly slim hope a developer listens.

The armor mold system was implemented in EQ1 for many reasons, and was incredibly well recieved. It would have worked well in EQ2 had the molds not been put on trash mobs, e.g. Labs. The reason many players objected to the system in EQ2 was not the concept, but the fact the molds were dropping off trash and yielding largely the best armor in the game. This is a mistake that has also been made recently in the Throne of New Tunaria.

The "Intelligent Loot Code" is not intelligent. It does not take into account how many times someone has killed the mob for their drop. It is soul destroying to see our new recruits given a full fabled set in a week by the "intelligent" code, whilst some people have continually raided for 6 months and still don't have a set. Please let us use DKP or our own judgement to distribute loot, and do not patronise us with an intelligent system that also intentionally screws anyone sitting out. Above all, make sure the loot system is compatible with the way real guilds work, so the guild can provide the fairness not the RNG.

Do not balance classes through gear. If you feel a class is overpowered going into RoK, fix the class, then give them loot worth raiding for. Do not leave them fundamentally overpowered, but with such awful high end loot they have little reason to raid.

Ensure whoever designs the set at least plays the class on a few raids, and try to learn how your own game works. I don't mean to be insulting (cough), but the Wizard set versus the Warlock set is utterly mind-boggling when considering the game mechanics.

Moving goalposts is a bad thing. Please resist the urge to mess with drop rates / loot code over time. The only purpose this serves is to kill off your long-term playerbase and/or have them gearing their alts. This again returns to the notion of fairness which should drive any game.
