I know there is a LON forum , but these issue's deal with Eq2

A) when playing eq2 in windows mode and you try to play LON you cant see your cards , so you have to play Eq2 in full screen to play LON in Full screen (atleast on my comp and i haven't found any ways to change settings in LON for windowed mode)

B) when playing LON you cannot See or Hear Eq2 at all, the game was said to be a way for people to pass time as they Camp for a quest,Name, mob, etc,,,, but there is no way to camp becuase you have no idea what is going on in EQ2 when your playing LON = 2 hour camp gets Stolen becuase you didn;t see mob pop, or her a /Tell from group that the Name poped etc,, even if a player in game Sent you a tell asking if your camping the name you wouldn't know

C) Legends of Norath Initial page cannot be canceled, once you pull it up you Have to go into LON Main page to exit, and when i do that on my comp it freezes for 10+ seconds, if you accidently do this you could wipe group's and raids and get yourself quite dead solo

D) lastly , after playing LON for 10 minutes or 30 minutes and exiting the game and trying to Resume play in eq2, eq2 is lagged out and im now running at 5 to 10 FRP , and i have to Exit eq2 normaly that would take a about 20 seconds and another 30 seconds to load it back up , BUT after playing LON eq2 has taken upwards of 1 minute + to exit eq2, and then i have to wait for my Main windows page to load up (SLOWLY after exiting lon then eq2) so another 2 minutes, and then load eq2 back up another 1 minute + .... so all in all After exiting LON and then having to Exit eq2 im losing about 10 minutes to get back to playing eq2

none of these things is very good on there own for making Eq2 more enjoyable to play, but all of them together can get pretty frustrating, and im a pretty patient person : ), I don;t know if there are any option's to play LON in a windowed mode (and it's hard to read what the cards say unless you maximize them and who wants to do that on every single card every single time ? so i dont know if windowed mode would even be playable becuase it would be unreadable)

yeah my computer's a little dated and i know that isn;t soe's problem, and im sure other's with much better system's probably aren;t getting any lag, or it taking any longer for eq2 to exit or windows to load up etc,, im just putting up the info from my perspective in hopes that some of these issue's can be worked on ,

if there are otions and ways to hear/see eq2 when playing LON , or go to windowed mode, or Exit directly out of the Main page(playgame, challange) without having to go to Full screen LON to exit please list them hear to eliminate them from the Eq2 Issue's with LON thread

and please anyone else that notices anything else about LON interfearing with Eq2 post it here in the Test forum

Thanks

A) I always play EQ2 in windowed mode because of the eye strain playing full screen on a 24" WS LCD, but have no problems what so ever playing LON (in windowed mode) at the same time. Maybe it's a window size thing? *shrug* Others have reported this, but yeah, works fine for me.

B) Again, I've got no problems seeing or hearing EQ2 in the background. I've got my camera positioned so I can see a mob spawn in the visible parts of the EQ2 window or I've got the broker window open to hear when people are buying my stuff. I know it doesnt help you to know that 'it works for me', but atleast we know it's not a general affects everyone bug.

C) Agreed. It's a PITA!

D) Even more of a PITA that C is. There's a massive memory leak somewhere in the LON code (dont try and play it for long periods at the broker in QH) and you'll more than likely end up with a memory allocation error after a while.

and to add to this thread

E) Not sure if this is an EQ2 or LON problem, but I keep crashing the EQ2 client when I send a challenge request to a friend. Pretty much 100% of the time (I cant recall it EVER not crashing my client, though havent tested it exhaustively). I did notice though that if your EQ2 client crashes when you begin to play a game with someone, when you load LON back up you'll get put back into the game (so you can appologise for the bloody thing crashing), but if you crash when someone accepts your challenge, you dont. You just go straight back to the main LON window .... and the person who you challenge remains in the (now one sided) game that was almost started. You cant rechallenge them because theyre already in a game.

vortfu

juist to add another thing, i send a challenge to a freind and were werent lagging at all , the chat box in lon allowed us to talk but when in combat i would have to wait 2 minutes for him see what ive done then wait 2 minutes to see what hes done andit makes it unplayable =(

I have no problem hearing what goes on around my character while playing LoN. However, the LoN screen takes up my entire view. I play at a resolution of 1024 x 768 on a 17" (or is it 19?) monitor and LoN takes up every inch in full screen mode. In windowed mode the bottom bar where the cards appear is cut off. The LoN window really needs to be scalable or able to be dragged around readily so you can pop in and out of it. The time it takes to launch and exit is prohibitive to using it for short "timekiller" sessions.
