I just read about stacking poisons at this page http://www.everquestgold.net/everqu...q2-players.htmlBut the only poisons I find on merchants are dots that don't stack with one another. Would player crafted instant poison stack with the dots?
no, both are "red" poisons, neither stack poison seeds either

So, no poisons stack? What is the article referring to?

Poisons stack, they just can't be of the same colour. One of each type.On my Swash I have caustic, warding ebb, turgur. Three diff types of poison, three diff colours, all three are used at the same time.

To the OP, Try this article. It goes over, in detail, how to stack poisons.

What do you raiding Swashys use as your 3 poisons? Is the de-agro poison useful at all during a raid?
Vandiyan09 wrote:
What do you raiding Swashys use as your 3 poisons?
Do everyone a favor in the raid and talk to the other poison users. I used to raid regularly as a ranger before making a swashy and it floored me how people didn't coordinate poisons even a little bit when it can help. So make it a point and talk to the others esp if you have a guild alchemist.

Always use a red and pink and if you have it a blue simultaneously. You can then layer on a potion that buffs a stat, a potion that increases hit chances and a potion that helps your resists. Knock yourself out.

If you raid regularly with a group/guild then you should have a variety of the debuffing poisons and affect poisons around. Rangers, Assassins, Brigands and Swashies are all using poisons. There are 4 debuffing poisons (ancillary) and multiple ones that can root, slow, deaggro etc. There's a good chance that there's more than one scout class poison user in the raid so spread the love. I always asked scouts to carry 2 of the debuffers with them so if one was out another had it. These poisons don't just help scouts they can help the whole raid. I found that if you coordinate with the poisons they are more potent then hex doll use have those who can take a break from autoattack damage (like casters) use dolls while scouts keep their poisons going.

If you think about it you can see all the ancillary poisons are useful so use them all.

Poison One the RED ONE

Caustic poison always makes more sense if you hit fast and hit often so keep that up UNLESS:

You're in a fight that you need to regen health or power fast like say Harla Dar, I'd use a mental breech poison and forget caustic, its not so much about outparsing anyone as killing the mobs fast fast fast with no rest in between. The Crab in Mara is another example for power drains or the day and night dragons in Djinn's Prism

Or a fight you take constant damage all the time Vitality may be for you.

Usally only Assassins use the Hemotoxin

The PINK/PURPLE ONE

Enfeebling Poison: Reduces Strength, Crushing skill, Ranged skill, Piercing skill, and Slashing skill of your target. This makes it much harder for your target to hit YOU (or your raid or groups tank).

Cerebral Ebb: Reduces Intelligence, Disruption skill, Subjugation skill, Ministration skill, and Ordination skill of your target. This is the bane of Mage/Priest targets, particularly Mages with the Intelligenct debuff. This will increase the fizzle rate of your PvP targets and reduce the effectiveness of any target's skills involved with offensive spells as well as healing spells.

Gracelessness: Reduces Agility, Parry skill, Defense skill and Deflection skill of your target. The advantage of using this poison is that it makes your target much easier to hit.

Warding Ebb: Decreases Wisdom, and decreases mitigation of all magical damage. Now, that doesn't say magic damage, it says magical damage. That's an important distinction. Magical damage is all non-physical mitigations. All. That means all arcane, all noxious, and all elemental mitigations are reduced. That includes poison.

The BLUE One

Essence of Turgur: This reduces the rate at which a target attacks you; it is an attack-speed slow, also known as a de-haste.

Fettering Poison: This causes a simple unbreakable snare poison.

Ignorant Bliss: When this poison procs, you lose hate.

Stupefying Poison: The target is stunned for a very short time.
