View Full Version : Sacrificing handcrafted items to deities

Hi, the other day, I was able to sacrifice a pristine handcrafted weapon to my deity, but when I tried to sacrifice some apprentice IV spells, it wouldn't let me. I know that generally, deities only accept gear as sacrifices, but I think it should be limited to looted treasured items or mastercrafted gear requiring rares. If someone doing a gear tradeskill can sacrifice most of the non-rare handcrafted stuff he makes, I think he has an unfair advantage over the others tradeskillers.

Edit: this post was apparently completely false; I was told that the sacrifice and transmute limitations were about the same, and that's not true. <strike>Nothing handcrafted is sacrificable, including not-marked-as-handcrafted Apprentice spells. There's no advantage to one tradeskill over another (except Provisioner; they can't make mastercrafted stuff to sacrifice or transmute.)</strike>

Ilucide tells me this is so, and he knows everything! Apprentice IV spells not being included in that is probably just an oversight, so please do a /bug in game and it'll make its way to my bug list where eventually I will try to find time to go through and check! <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Handcrafted potions/poisons can't be sacrificed either, I tried that just the other day.

Aren't Apprentice spells actually tagged as Treasured?

Yes, after looking into it a bit, it looks as if this would require a code change for the App IV's (which is probably why they're not done now). The potions and poisons make sense not to be sacrificeable (or sacrificial?) since they're consumables. But yeah, if it hugely bothers anyone, go ahead and /bug the app IV's and most likely it will get looked at in more detail at some point after Kunark.

Rare potions/poisons are sacrificeable, though - I could see coding issues if it were set so that consumables and spells(which I imagine could be considered consumables) were not sacrificeable across the board, but since mastercrafted poisons/potions can be sacrificed, I'd think that common ones could be as well...

Will be so nice to destroy that crafted trash <img src="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/images/smilies/49869fe8223507d7223db3451e5321aa.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" />

For my low level crafters, I usually sacrifice a lot of the common combines. BTW, -most- tinkered items are sacrificable as well. Those I have that aren't, I've bugged in game. I don't remember which they are, though. I haven't tried adornments.

Can adept III's be sacraficed currently? I have 3 I'd rather destroy atm.

No spells, not even masters.
