I saw a video of Kunark and I saw a griffon station.  If I recall, when the iksar (I think Kurn) made the Sarnak (mixing dragon and Iksar) he also made a flying mount by mixing dragon and frogloks with thier magic.  Does anyone remember any part about this?  If so, wouldn't it be better if they were used instead of griffons?

The Sokokar (which are shown in another kunark video) aren't exactly domesticated and mass-bred for travel yet. They were only created specifically for air combat, and are thus limited in number. Griffons are there, they're easy to tame, and they get the job done just as quickly.

I wouldnt take anything like that from the videos as final though, one would certainly use griffons as placeholders if adding different transport mounts later.

It was Emperor Atrebe that made both the Sarnak and the Sokokar.  According to the EQ1 Offical Lore on the matter, all the Sokokar were killed by the Ring of Scale (though in theory, anyone who had access to Atrebe's Research and a sufficient amount of magical skill could make more (Venril Sathir seems likely in this case), also the point that Cusashorn made is valid as well, they were breed for combat, not travel, you wouldn't want to fly from 1 point to another in a Spitfire would you?
