I just got call of storms over the weekend.  Adept 1, no AA into it. I use it alot trying to see what it can really do.  So far, I seem to disappointed.  It only seems to have about a *guessing here* 30% chance to hit something, and then is resisted about half the time. Does anyone have a master of this, and or AA points into it?  Before I spend all the money, or switch my AA around, I want to see if it is worth it. So far, the best combo I came up with for groups is 1) starnova, 2) Ring of Fire, 3) Call of storms, 4) Starnova again. Any Advice?

<p>I have the Master of it, but no AAs.  I don't recall seeing that many resists, and the chance to hit seems a little higher as well.  That being said, the only time I use this spell is for killing a lot of mobs that are out of encounter (like that one drake room in HoF, EV + RoF + CoS = uber DPS <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ).  At end game there just isn't much reason to use it in my opinion - if you're just doing a single encounter you'll get better DPS from using your other spells.  I would recommend this being one of the last spells you upgrade.</p><p>It does look darn cool though. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

Remove the spell from your hotbar now, plz, unless you are farming groups of low greys. This is an awful and worthless spell that actually lowers your dps to about 1/5 what you could be doing without it.

<p>I have the Master 1 of Call of Storms, and I actually really love the spell. I use it a lot - my hubby plays an SK so of course he loves to pull as many groups of mobs as he can at a time. With the spell up, I do comparative (if not more) DPS than without it, due to the fact that it's one of my two out-of-encounter AoEs.</p><p>I love the drake room in HoF. That's my absolute favorite encounter to use Call of Storms on.</p><p>I only really use it if I'm fighting multiple encounters simultaneously, as Starnova takes a bit to refresh even with 5 AA points in the Enhance. It's situational, but it has a heck of a cool graphic and it's fun doing 3000+ DPS while stunned. <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src=" width="15" height="15" /></p><p>edit: boo typo</p>

<p>Got Master Call of Storms... recommend leaving it as one of the last spells to upgrade, I was lucky that mine dropped in Raid so I didn't fork out plat for it.</p><p>The only... and I do mean ONLY time I ever use this spell is if I'm running around solo in Barren Sky beating up Aviaks (green/blue con), I just pull tonnes of em, cast Ring of Fire, cast all my other nukes and then hit Call of Storms.</p><p>Not as good for DPS as our other spells, and far more limited with where you can use it.  Since I spend more time raiding or solo healing a group in most situations there is no way I would cast a spell like Call of Storms that stuns me and stops me from healing.  </p>

I put 5 AA points into Call of Storms. Noticable difference in resists - far less of them. Also the reduced duration makes it possible to use it in certain situations when you are the solo healer. Without 5 AAs, the spell is extremely situational. With 5 AAs, it is slightly less situational. Does HUGE amounts of damage when you get it right, though. And looks very cool.

The main problem with the spell is the amount of adds you can get with it, the range is quite large. I am not as quick as some to discount it as "worthless remove it from your spell bar." That's just unimaginative, because the spell is like a number of the fury spells, not a mainstay unless you play to it, then it can become a useful tool in your artillery. Most are content to just fire off vortex and burn through our ae and dd spell, keep dots going and be done with it. Not my play style really. I like to eke every bit of performance from my toons as possible, this is just another way of doing it. I can go to bonemire, pull every spider in that one named's cave on the main island, toss up rof hibernation and single regen, thornskin, when it's all down, repop hibernation with the single regen and then cos the whole 7 mobs down in less than a minute flat. It's all in how you use it. (For some reason the light and darkness ring procs a ton when you're surrounded by mobs and dont have em just hitting you frontal...anyone else noticed this? Because a good third of my healing soloing on large mobs like that is from that ring.)Some other good uses for the spell are listed above. You just have to take the range into consideration and not use it surrounded by mobs or close to mobs that are on the other side of a wall. <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=" />"And another thing...as solo healer...you can freakin' cancel the spell by clicking on the spell icon again if the tank's dying. Take advantage of our fast casting heals. Yer tank pulls half a room, give him time for aggro, pop both regens and hibernation, then cos=dead half a room. Hell if the tank's doing ok I pop vortex and pull 2k+ dps if there's enough mobs. My ad3 cos does around 1200-1400 a hit when I pop vortex...hits about 1/3 to half the mobs in the group around me and isn't resisted that much...if you're getting resisted that much, are you int specced in kos? with plenty of points in our disruption/focus aa? if not why you trying to nuke anything anyways?

Call of Storms is pretty situational for me. I generally only use it in places like Nest, where we pull half a floor at a time...pop regens, energy vortex, ring of fire, call of storms...

<p>I use it when I pull 4 or more mobs at a time.. Toss up vortex, ring of fire then call of storms and I get some really cheap kills mana-wise.. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Usually only doable with greens or low blues, or I get my [Removed for Content] kicked.. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>Call of storm's and Ring of fire are both spells I used A LOT when I hunt for hunting titles, and combined with Energy Vortext - they can actually kill greens FASTER than just using a single hit spell.</p><p>If you know how to use it; then it's a very good spell to have. It took me awhile to realize how to use it, and that using it in instances like oob and such isn't recommended... </p><p>Saying it 'sucks' and is 'worthless' umm.. right.. it isn't worthless and it doesn't suck for me.</p>
