Can you tell us more about this goddess of treachery?

In the book, "Our Lady Betrayal," found in Nek3, we learn of Rikantus Everling's journey to the city referenced in the description of Zeboxoruk in EQ:

"There is said to be a hidden city on Norrath that honor, not worship, the 'Ungod', Zebuxoruk. Something not even he truly cares for. This city has knowledge of his history both true and false and the community is mostly comprised of fallen priests, shadowknight, paladins, any who have been forsaken by thier deities and either seek a pathway back or seek true neutrality among the planes and an understanding that the deities are more mortal than they think." -Official Description of Zeboxoruk

In Rikantus' account, it almost sounds like she has ties to both Erollisi and Innoruuk, but little else is mentioned, such as who she is, how she came to be, if she is a sub-deity (planar entity created by a god), or a demi-goddess (mortal lifted up and deified by a god). The part partaining to his discovery of this goddess is listed below, the first part of the narrative is about how he came to the city.

The masses of fallen worshippers parted to create a twisting path towards the dark recesses of a peculiar little shrine. Her voice commanded me,"Go!" I began my slow, almost penitent, march towards the shrine. The walls of the fallen began to chant in whispers. As I drew closer to the shrine I noticed it was precariously placed between two other shrines, although it seemed as though these shrines were not even adjacent to one another. To one side of the meager shrine was the shrine of love and to the other side was the shrine of lover and to the other side a portion of the shrine of hate embraced it. I continued my march. As I entered the shadows of the little shrine I began to make out the visage of a statue. The statue was that of a commanding, yet comforting female knight. Donned in the finest armor this visage stood atop the back of a knight. Protruding from knight's back, a lance breached the armor of the dead. My eyes slowly followed the length of the lance until it met the hands of the female knight. I could sense a great betrayal as bound to this shrine. What was this image I see before me and why do I feel as though I should pay homage here? "You belong to her." The ruler of Zebuxor was at my back. I did not even notice her approach. "She is the Lady of Betrayal. Like you, she sought the unknown. Her desire of the unknown was so great that she betrayed the power that gave her light." "Who is my goddess?" I begged. With another of her beguiling smirks, the ruler answered. "She is Ullkorruuk. Her betrayal of love was so great that she was embraced by the powers of hate.Given new life among the stars, she now sits in the pantheon of hate, forever renamed and never to be graced by Marr again." I began to weep before the statue. My tears streamed as I fell to my knees. I crawled closer to the statue and reached out to it. "Do not forsake me maiden of betrayal. End the madness of my house. Ease the curses that haunts us." Although my house has long been indifferent towards the faiths, almost agnostic some would clam, I found myself praising before the statue. "What can I give you for my salvation, my lady?" I cried. "Your offering begins." said the ruler behind me. My fingertips finally reached the feet of the statue-all went black!

We see Rikantus, or at least a part of him, in Nek1, trying to rebuild his family. We know that there is a shrine to Ulkoruuk on the ground floor, and, at one time, was serviced by a priest and priestess'. Other than Nektropos, to my knowledge, we have never seen any mention of this deity, and I would LOVE to know more about her! Was she, like Saryrn, a jilted lover? Whom did she ultimately betray? Does she somehow tie in with the Marrian-Lucanic conflict in Freeport? Please tell me more! She's the only one I need to know more about before I post my deity essay!

Oh! Speaking of which, anyone want to go through and be my editor, or better yet, any of the lore devs want to go through and tell me if any of my information is incorrect? I would HATE to post anything that isn't backed up by lore in game!

I'm surprised you didn't put Vhalen's description of her in your post. It adds a little bit more to what you already have. Is this the same essay that I have? If so, I'll go through it again and see if anything pops out to me as wrong though I'm not any kind of deity expert. A little more info would be nice though. Seems like she might have quite the story to tell.

Awesome! I somehow missed that post! I guess I need to search for, and read through all of Vhalen's posts again! Still, I'd love to know more surrounding her ascension to demi-god status, and her pull and influence on the mortal plane! Thanks Rapha!

And yes, it probably is, but I think I've updated it since you last saw it..

I also lied. Ullkoruuk isn't the only deity I needed more information on, I was also hoping to get more information concerning the Anashti Sul (tentatively entitled Goddess of Oblivion). aka, the Peacock Goddess. Might Vhalen, Jindrack, or Owlchick be able to enlighten the masses concerning these lesser known deities?

Vhalen wrote:
Sul'Dal does indeed combine a lost goddess with the elves. But who is Anashti Sul and what, if anything, would Sul translate to? I can tell you that 'Un' often means all or whole, depending on its position. Things we have learned on our expeditions into the Living Tombs and the Silent City have not gone by the wayside. Their importance to the Age of Destiny slumbers.

As for New Tunaria, we shall undoubtedly learn more of what transpired in this ancient city between the Age of Turmoil and the Age of Destiny. When a new crusade is given, many answers will be revealed.

This is the only related find when I cross reference "Anashti" with "Vhalen". A thread involving an interview with a programmer who developed New Tunaria.

I'm not asking to reveal any crusade (though it wouldn't surprise me to learn that the Freethinkers might be a part of this), but some information on this goddess would be great! We don't even have the

Name:

Plane of Existance:

Titles:

Worshipers:

Interesting tidbits concerning her plane, how she came to be, personality, dress, what/why she does to Norrathians, and her influence on Norrath in general:

thing that we have for most of the other more obscure gods! And I've totally given up on learning anything more about Sahteb Mahini, Ehayae, and Drinal. I think in large part, I'm just the only one who seems to be interested, and so the very busy lore devs wisely choose to adress more popular topics

Pfft...you are not the only interested person! I've been working on a deity section for a while now myself and would LOVE to hear more about these as well as any others out there.

I was under the impression that it was Tannan, not to be confused with New Tannan of The Plane of Knowledge.

I hd originally though that as well, but at least twice in Rikantus' account, he calls it Zeboxor, one of which is in the section I quoted below. And yes, the Plane Knowledge was New Tanaan. Tanaan is the city beneath the Mystic Lake on the Isle of Mara. I suppose it is possible that the two cities are one in the same, but thats yet another thing we'd have to be told by a dev who knows more about such things.

They are different cities. If you follow the path Rikantus takes, they are in very different parts of the world.

New Tannan/PoK was named in honour of the original city of Tannan, if you talk to more of the NPCs in PoK you learn a little more about the old city (it's been ages since ah've spent any time in there so can't remember much)

Nonono, you're NOT the only one interested! I recently read at www.lorelibrary.com the full text of everything related to Nektropos Castle and came across info on Ullkorruuk. I don't know why, but I was smitten. Normally the goddesses from mythologies and such that I feel a pull to are quite good...Athena, Artemis, etc (to name the better known ones). But this one...she's dark, she's tempestuous, she's backstabbing, but I feel like there's got to be something more to her. A tragic story perhaps, but if there are no redeeming qualities that makes her all the more interesting. Perhaps she's truly central to some great plot or future event of Norrath? Or is she merely a dusty forgotten goddess that intrigues few, but deeply? Lore gods, bring us more!
