Hello Mystic World,

Currently I give the tank about 5 to 7 seconds to get the aggro and then I start with single ward then grp ward then some debuffs. Sometimes I end up stealing the aggro. Anyone else have trouble stealing aggro? If so, what did you do to fix it?

First, what level are you? And Second, in what situation do you do the group ward? The reason I ask is because a proportionate amount of hate is generated when you wards on; I usually never have a problem with stealing aggro and it could be also if the tank's skill at taunting and aggro generation is low he/she won't be able to maintain it.

I usually don't have any trouble stealing aggro. Fight starts, I let the damage fly, ward up during the refresh, debuffing what needs it, and then let the damage fly again. I can steal (and hold) aggro from most tanks I group with if I want to. Err, wait... That's not what you were asking, is it? =P

I very rarely have trouble with stealing agro. I have been known to purposely nab it on adds, to keep the squishier folks from getting squashed, easier to heal myself than a warlock running around like an idiot as well as usually easy for me to shed it via my deagro or my tinker deagro once the tank reallizes his healer is tanking a mob or the mezzer (if there is one) gets it.

I have also on rare occassions pulled agro on trash in raids, particularly if the tank gets stunned and the wizard/warlock that was next in line for agro got smushed. In those instances, I quickly let EVERYONE know that I have agro, stop attacking/debuffing/healing and throw out my deagros. I rarely have it for long.

hmmh i do this... group ward, followed immediately by single ward, tank pulls... then use single tgt ward and quicker small heal in battle... usually start with the debuff which lowers monsters resistance and sta (ancient something?) *edit* usually no problems with aggro even when warding beforehand... ++Xan

For me it really only happens if my overzealous puller brings down a train and his group taunt can't overcome the amount of damage my group wards are absorbing or my dog lands one of his group wards and my puller pulls without it wearing off.

If you are waiting until after the tanks pulls to ward and getting agro, it is the tanks fault.

It's standard ops to rune on pull. The tank should be tagging well before it gets to you. Make sure he/she isn't body pulling and not taunting or doing dmg before it gets to the group, otherwise you will be #1 on the hate list.

Honestly it depends on the tank, i usually have a fabled out paladin or zerk tanking for me and there's no problems unless i pre ward on a body pull, if they use a damage art then usually no problems with stealing aggro, if we get adds though well......they beeline for me.
