I have an EQ2 account from original release and today bought the EQ2 pack with all 3 expansions included. My thinking was that there would be seperate account keys for EQ2 and for each expansion as my plan was to register the expansions to my existing account, and give the new EQ2 account to a friend.

My question is can I register only the expansions to my existing account, and give my friend the new EQ2 account, or are my choices limited to starting over and giving him my old wiped account, or transferring toons to the new account with all expansions and giving him my old account?

Basically, I only want to register the expansions to the existing account, and let my friend use the original EQ2 game portion of the pack.

The best course of action is to use the new account yourself, either transfer your characters from the old account to the new account, or don't, and give your friend the old one.

Once you activate the key from the new box, on your existing account, the expansions will be activated for your existing account, but the basic EQ2 portion will not be usable.

Thanks!

That's what I thought would be the case.

I will just use the new EQ2 pack and give him my old account. Having just returned from a long break away from EQ2, I think the highest toon I have currently is around lvl 18, so it won't take long at all to get new toons back up there.

But [Removed for Content], I lose my veterans rewards! LOL

An EQ2 account without expansions is really not very valueable or useful. Why not just sign him or her up for the free trial and upgrade your veteran account?

Where did you get that pack with all the expansions? I haven't played for two years and have none of the expansions. I don't want to pay full price for each expansion when there's something like that out there.

If they don't have it in stock, you can order it from them and they can get one shipped in. Echoes of Faydwer is the name of the latest expansion, but it comes with the original EQ2 game, Desert of Flames, and Kingdom of Sky, all the expansions up to date. However, it does not come with the Adventure Packs (but those aren't necessary, you won't even notice you don't have them). In November Rise of Kunark is being released, which will include EoF, DoF, and KoF, if you want to wait.

To the OP, did you get a Retail Box of EQ2:EoF or did you get it from D2D? Because I think there maybe an EQ2 Buddy Key in the box, wich is a 10 day free trial and is not quite as limited in scope as the Play the Fae and Trial of the Isle Trials are.
