Hi, I'm using an old version of eq2ui_mouseovericons.xml to have money/stats/etc visible on the main screen, trouble is whenever I start EQII the patcher automatically re-downloads the original eq2ui_mouseovericons.xml meaning I have to manually copy the file back everytime before I play. Yeah its not that hard but it is abit annoying! Is there anyway to stop the pacther from downloading this file everytime? Thanks

You could try a few things: 1st, make that file read only. To do this, right click the file in question, and click "properties". Then check the box in that window that says "read only", and hit OK. You could also try executing the game using the "everquest2.exe" file, insted of using the "eq2.exe" file, which will always initiate the launcher and patch program. Using the first, it will just attempt to log in to the game using the game program, and will not attempt to patch. However, note that if this solution works well for the time being, every major patch the game will have to be executed again from the file "eq2.exe" to patch itself up to be playable again. If that occurs, you will probabbly need to recopy the file like you do now. Hope those work for ya, Karatta

yeah already tried Read Only but that did'nt work, the 2nd one would but as you say I'd have to patch anyway from time to time. Guess I'll just have to live with the way I'm doing it <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Many thanks

<p>Just checking that you have your custom xml file in a seperate directory that's referenced in your eq2.ini file and not just placed in the UI/Default directory?</p><p>FYI: Any file that is not a default xml file that is placed in the UI/Default directory will be overwritten each time the patcher is run. Also, changing file attributes, such as Read Only, will not change this process as the altered attribute is a red flag to the patcher for re-downloading a file.</p>
