/testcopy add not working after 48 hours? Try this!

Hmmm.. just tried creating a toon, and this was the result: "There are no servers available right now; please try again in a few minutes." This is as of 6:51pm cst (4:51 pdt), so there's no patching being done that I can see. I can log in my characters on regular Test server.. I don't have any on PvP Test to check if that one is down or something. Temp Test server having issues? *Edit* I was able to create a toon on regular Test server.. that didn't make my testcopy toon appear though. Something funky happening.

Oh if you get the error reported in the last couple of posts, pick another starting city. Neriak is broken. You cannot start a character there on the PvP test server.

Nice catch on starting chars in Neriak!  I've hopefully fixed the problem and it should be much easier to start up evil characters in darklight woods. - K

I was just clicking through to make the char, and Neriak must have been the automatic option.. I made my char in Freeport and it worked, thanks guys!

I may have screwed myself because I already had a character with the exact same name as the one I copied from live server.  Went to Test and found a character already named Sscath which was an Arasai assassin which wasn't the one I copied.  I deleted him then logged back out hoping to see my level 70 Iksar assassin copied, but he wasn't.  Tried to copy him today and got a message along the lines of "Current /testcopy commands are suspend for this world."

<p>Amana can I assume you're on Kithicor?</p><p>That error message means there is probably something off on our end not yours.  Any new characters being copied over with names the same as existing characters get an X appended to them.</p><p> - K</p>

I had the same problem, created a new toon on pvp_test but couldn't log in. Then I created a toon on test, logged in and back to char select, logged my pvp_test toon in (then it worked, behold the magic!), logged back to char select and voilá... my copied toon was available. I never was on testserver, never had any toons copied before, not even beta (you didn't invite me!), maybe this is connected somehow... P.S.: Thank you very much for creating a true testserver and allowing us to copy over our toons to test the upcoming changes! I was waiting for this since summer 2005 <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

I have a question./testcopy add command works only on US live servers?Currently, I've played on the sebilis server.I tried to type /testcopy add, but system message said like that testcopy log is "off".If it is by mistake, please open to players on the sebilis ser ver.thanks.

well its been well over 48 hours and ive tried all the suggestions in this post and i still seem to be missing!  after the first 48 hours i redid the /testcopy add  on my char Jedediah from permafrost and im still waiting and still missing on test :/

It was temporarily changed to a PVE server during the time you could transfer characters. I don't know the status of the returned PVP Test since I don't play there. If you were trying to copy a character to the regular test server that won't happen. Test permitted copies for about 2 weeks after it first opened, to create a playerbase that was not all level 1.

i was trying to copy from a non test server by the time it would take to level from 1-70 all the stuff i wanna test would be old news

The bold is mine to make it easier to see. /testcopy was for the Test PVP server only. Test is not designed to be a personal test bed for players but rather a place for players willing to deal with often buggy software and frequent server downs to help SOE test what will make its way to the live servers. It's a small but richly diverse community with "help your fellow player" as a given.</p>

I don't know anyone who has.</blockquote><p>I thought previews generally took place on the beta server(and then only if it was something IN Beta such as RoK) otherwise the Game site staff had to have a toon of level on staff to preview addtions to the game, save rare occations when a dev might show up in a locked room to show off some new toys, to a specific staff member, but again they are showing off to a toon that the staff member created an is lvling on thier own.</p><p>Has anyone tried to get into the PvP Test server? it is possable that it is accually a beta server that is not suposed to show up on the Test log-in, or its possable someone accedently hit the on switch on the PvPTest log-in.</p>

Uh...it's back up and accessible? Or is it merely showing up...but locked to players?If it is accessible, which ruleset is it using? Did they bring it back under the true PvP rules?I suppose I could bother to look myself but then that would preclude any discussion on how weird it is that it's back with no word on why...nor what it's being used for this time.

It's back up. I'm sure because I logged one of my gals in, in the bank in Nettleville. Never left the bank and there was no one around so I don't know if it's PVE or PVP.

<p>The PVP  Testserver is up, and all Chars that were copying for LU 38 was avaible.</p><p>The Ruleset is NonPVP, so you can Test Shard of Fear without Problems.</p>

I've tried it twice now. /testcopy add on my favourite char on runnyeye. but nothing appeared on test server. tried the hint and rolled a new char. Logged in several times but still nothing. Anything other hints?
