Hello all, After poking around the archives a bit, I couldn't find an answer to this. Hoping someone knows an answer, or may be able to bring this up. There are some book quests you start by reading a dropped or bought book. Eventually they reward you with a house-placable book. The only problem is, these books count toward the item limit, unlike all the newer books added to the game. Example of a few of the books: The Murkies The Journal of Rocco Barisano An Old Cookbook Collected Stories of Serpent Sewer THe Words of Zebuxoruk Bootstrutter's Trail Guide to the Desert of Ro Splitpaw Down Under, Part One Splitpaw Down Under, Part Two The Blood of the Bear, Part Two The Blood of the Bear, Part Three The Trials of Sir Morgan Adventures of Jorbo and Mappy Description: "This completed book can be placed in your house and read" Nektulos Forest, by Torq De'Rech A History of the Order of Nektulos WHy We Fight, Chronicle One Description: "THis book was given to me by <insert here>. <insert details>." Is there any way to exchange these for versions that don't count? I like the stories, but I just don't have the room to spare to keep them. =/

I'd either /feedback or /bug this whole list to let them know these books are counting. I might even go through my considerable library and see if I have any others that are counting.

At my last count, I have north of 200-250 books in my house. Yes, the older ones do take an slot on your count list, but there isn't anything you can "swap" it out to. Some books, particularly the ones that used to be kill quests but now are collection quests, come in both new and old versions (I've collected both, of course). Other than buying a bigger house, or starting a "librarian" alt with a bigger house, there's not really much that can be done about it. The real trick is getting all those books placed on bookshelves

Many of the books purchased from the mage tower libraries still count towards item count. I don't think the "Three Part Read" books like "An Old Cookbook" can be converted to the new system. However, all those others you listed, I have them and they've been converted already. You should be able to buy updated versions from the library.

Is there a paticular NPC that sells the updated versions? I checked the Sage NPC, but all I'm seeing is the original quest starter items.

Man 200 - 250? Where do you place them?!?!?!? If it's on a bookshelf, show me how you do that without having trouble or spending an hour doing so O_O

It's not exactly something you do in one sitting I'd been placing books in my apartment for months, and had some nice shevles of books going. But since I was running out of space, a guildie pointed out that certain books may count. That started my little book audit, and that's how I found out about these. I'm a little hesitant to do any more of the dropped book quests now, cause I'm worried they'll count toward the limit. =/ And I still can't seem to find alt-versions of these books for sale, maybe I"m looking in the wrong place? Only place I could think of to look was the academy of arcane sciences building in Freeport.

Notice all the books on that list that are sold for 1 copper? those are the updated versions.

Geinoch wrote:

Man 200 - 250? The trick is to not even care about bookshelves. Three Intricate Oak Tables is all I need to neatly place my books in an organized manner according to physical appearance of the book itself. The "Stacks" of books are lining the walls in thier dissheveled state..

Two things:1) Holy freaking crap that's a lot of books o_O. I hope to have a ton like that at some point hehe.2) The only books I saw for 1 copper were all the lore and legend books. =/When I get a chance, I'll put up a (edited and small) screenshot of what I'm seeing on the vendor.
