G'day.

Ive just started playing the game for about 4 days now <grins> and Loving it so far. Whats great is that I have found my class after the 2nd atempt and have decided on the Fury to be my main. My question is to the Furys that have already hit the end game. If you had your time again in choosing your craft what would it be ?

Im torn between Tailor for my leather armor and bags etc

or a jewler ( I think thats the one that makes our spells ? )

Sages make our spells.

I like being an alchemist because I go through alot of potions etc while raiding and can make poisons/potions for guildies. Spells, jewelry, armor would be ok but ususally they are a one off kinda thing, as in one set per teir. It really depends how you will be playing, once you get to a capped level you wont be needing armor, spells or jewelry but will use food/drink (provisioner), potions (alchemist) on an ongoing basis. If you are leveling slower than a tailor etc could be a good choice. Alot of dropped armor at higher tiers is good so you may not even make much use of handcrafted gear, and with the prices of rares dropping they are fairly cheap to buy.

I have a alchemist, sage, provisioner and carpenter at lvl 70. I like the carpenter the most because it's fun making stuff for my house but the alchemist I use the most, followed by the provisioner. The sage is 'resting' until the level cap is raised lol.

IMO it doesn't really matter what trade class an adventure class makes and here's why. In the case of a fury you need a tailor for leather armor/dolls/bags, but after relatively FEW mastercrafted pieces the tradeskiller will be idle if you are only considering the tradeskiller a compliment to your adventure class. Same goes for sage, after making a couple adept 3's, he would be idle.

Remember all the time that if you are reasonably active and skilled player you will be obtaining masters, and legenday/fabled gear that would surpass anything (in most cases) you can make with the crafter. Also remember as far as making your on stuff a fury will also need a woodworker (buckler/imbued wands), weaponsmith (metal weapons), jeweler (belt, rightside stuff), alchy (potions), provie (food/drink), sage (spells) so you see, there really isn't one you could pick.

The only classes this doesn't happen to is provisioner and alchemist.

Provies make food/drink which are consumables and are always in demand. However you don't make alot per sale, so you need to put alot of combines and materials into your trade. You will make steady cash, but never make big money on single combines.

Alchy's make potions and poisons, also consumables. So the same rules apply, although alchy's also make fighter adepts so your market is a bit more broad. But, you are competing with masters too.

Transmuter and tinkerer are a whole 'nuther ball of wax. Some of the items made by them can bring big bucks. But it really takes cash and time to level them up AND they are a secondary TS to the primary, so you need to level up both.

In conclusion, IMO, you should craft if you enjoy that aspect of the game, both the crafting aspect and the business dealings aspect. If you don't, you probably would end up better in the long run adventuring more in an attempt to find saleable/tradable items to finance the purchases you would like to make.

If you are only concerned with making things better an adventurer then crafting is not worth it (beyond level 9 which is needed for some quests). Anything you could get from crafting you could buy more easily. Choose your crafting class for the fun you will get from crafting. I think tailor is one of the best currently. It has a decent range of recipes, and bags are steady sellers. Though it does require a lot of materials to level up.
